I work with individuals and with groups, offering a 'safe' environment, one which is welcoming, respectful, warm, accepting and non-judgemental. So often in current times, it can feel as if we are 'functions' as opposed to feeling, thinking human beings so it is important to me that you are able to be and feel heard and valued. I offer both talking and person-centred art therapies, in individual or group settings. I also offer integrative clinical supervision. Mindfulness tuition is also available. Both daytime and evening appointments are available.

Starting therapy can feel daunting. Reaching the point where you want support, and finding someone you trust, takes courage. You may be looking for a therapist who can offer understanding while also being honest & direct. Someone who will take you seriously and work alongside you. I work with individuals & couples when connection feels strained or has broken down, and when you feel unseen, unheard, or disconnected. I pay close attention to relational patterns, responsibility, and the impact of wider social & cultural influences, including ideas about gender and power. I support reflection and change at a pace that feels manageable.

Hi, I'm Oliver and I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting. That’s why my priority is to create a safe, welcoming environment where you can explore whatever you’re facing - at your own pace and in your own way. My approach is based on the belief that therapy works through being truly heard, developing a deeper understanding of ourselves, and releasing emotions that may have been pushed aside. Therapy can be a place to reflect on our relationships. It can also be helpful to get in touch with emotions that we have not been able to express.

I counsel Substance Abuse, Complex Trauma and Addiction related issues. We will talk with the purpose of becoming...... "better than well". Addiction is everywhere, both Substance addiction and Process addiction, and they afflict millions. I deal with many types of addictions and inevitably with the underlying trauma found at their roots. Universally it presents with a kaleidoscope of personal and family suffering. It does not have to continue. Healing from complex trauma and addiction is an act of rebellion. It is the process of deciding that your past—no matter what it has involved —does not get the final say about your future.

I work with people who feel stuck in relationship patterns or those who might feel unsure of who they are. Many come to me struggling with self-doubt, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling anxious and disconnected in relationships. Together, we explore the patterns behind these experiences, build a stronger sense of self, and develop healthier, more secure ways of relating - helping you feel more confident, grounded, and clear in yourself and your relationships.

My practice is relational, creative and inclusive, integrating transpersonal and humanistic models rooted in psychodynamic principles.
Therapy is one of the most positive things we can do for ourselves. It may seem like something other people do. But life isn’t easy and when it feels particularly overwhelming, talking to someone who listens without judgement, can really help us to trust ourselves and find perspective, meaning and confidence to enable a way forward. Clients I work with often find themselves in challenging and sometimes distressing situations and need a safe and confidential space to explore - at their own pace - what is going on for them, to rebuild, find healthier ways of coping and to experience hope.

I am a Psychosynthesis therapist, an approach combining psychodynamic & transpersonal psychotherapy.
Issues I work with include joylessness & low self esteem; relationship & sexual issues/ affairs & divorce; addictive/excessive behaviour; anger/emotional imbalances; bereavement/loss; sexual/physical abuse, trauma & PTSD. But whatever is troubling you please do get in touch: working through current problems we may look back at childhood & unresolved past issues, making sense of how things have been for you & why behaviours have developed whilst being curious about what could be be different: what purpose is there in this challenging time? how do you want to live & what needs to change?

You might already understand your patterns, but still feel stuck in them — overthinking after conversations, feeling “too much” or not enough, or holding everything together while feeling disconnected underneath. Maybe you’ve tried talking therapies like CBT, but the same emotional loops keep returning. Often this is because the patterns aren’t just in thoughts — they’re held deeper, in the nervous system. I specialise in anxiety, trauma, and relationship patterns, using EMDR alongside parts-work (IFS), somatic and mindfulness-based approaches.

People come to counselling/therapy for a range of issues including relationships, stress, fear or anxiety, confidence & self-esteem, procrastination, unhelpful habits or addictions & a whole range of other issues. In the beginning my role is to get to know you, understand who you are, listen why you have come, why you are the way you are, what you might need. I usually ask a lot of questions to find out about you now and what brings you to counselling, a little about your past, to find out how counselling can help alongside considering not only any underlying issues but also how you may want to live your life to your full potential.

You may look successful on the outside, but privately feel disconnected, anxious, overwhelmed, betrayed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in painful relationship patterns you cannot seem to change. I work with individuals and couples facing infidelity, intimacy issues, compulsive sexual behavior, communication breakdown, emotional disconnection, and the impact of unresolved trauma on relationships. For over 18 years, I have helped people move from crisis and confusion toward clarity, accountability, emotional safety, and deeper connection. Life itself is complex and through no fault of our own brings up many challenges that can lead to worry, anxiety, self-criticism, stress and low-esteem to name a few. As a clinical psychologist, I am flexible in my approach and work with a range of difficulties. I strongly believe therapy can be such a rewarding experience and the importance of creating a safe space in offering a non-judgemental and compassionate place for a person to feel heard and understood as we work together towards what is important to you. As such, issues relating to past or present, it is a space to create self-awareness and further move towards your values.

Transpersonal Counsellors
How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
