Sometimes it can feel as though you are in a never-ending loop, repeating unhelpful and negative patterns of behaviour which damage your feelings of self-worth and value. I can support you by enabling you to understand your behaviour patterns through exploring your emotions, anxieties and any past or present trauma. We will work through any old and unhelpful perspectives and feelings about yourself and your life, enabling you to make positive changes - putting the pieces of your puzzle back together, leading you to loving your life and accepting every aspect of it. This might be one of the most important journeys you will ever make.

You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of the way forward. Life’s pressures—work, family, and relationships—can leave you struggling with self-doubt, low confidence, or a sense of failure. You may sense something isn’t quite right but are unsure why you feel or think the way you do.

You may be struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, grief or major life changes.
We can explore and build on your inner strengths and resources. Sometimes it may be just a compassionate space to voice your inner thoughts and feelings without the fear of upsetting anyone. There's also an invitation to pay attention to the connection between your mind and body as we don't just experience life through our thoughts and emotions.

We sometimes find it difficult to cope with the things that life throws at us, be it relationship issues, health problems, self esteem and self doubt, anxiety, depression, panic attacks or phobias. Sometimes we just need a safe space where we can explore and talk about the things that worry us with someone who can help us find our own way through the struggle in an empathic and totally non-judgmental way. I am a fully integrative psychotherapist offering counselling and hypnotherapy in a calm, mindful and supportive environment.

Welcome! Perhaps we feel low, anxious or overwhelmed - stuck, disconnected, or like we’re running on empty. From outside, we may look like we're holding things together.  But inside we may feel weighed down, or spiralling with worries, or fear we're not good enough. Whether we’re struggling with painful emotions; with changes or losses in life; past trauma; or difficulties in our relationships or family, past or present- we don’t have to feel alone. I have a special interest in supporting parents, navigating becoming or being a parent at any stage. As a parent myself, I understand how intense, overwhelming & isolating this can be.

We tend to suffer from anxiety, stress, and depression for too long before reaching for help, which can lead to unnecessary suffering. It takes courage to start therapy, and it takes courage to confront our problems. ‍ What I offer you is a calm and supportive environment in which you will be able to deal with any difficulties you are experiencing, with the professionalism that you deserve.

Choosing me as your counsellor. If you’re looking for a counsellor, you need to find someone who is going to be a good “fit” for you. I believe that the most important part of any counselling is having a good relationship with the therapist. You need to be able to trust me and feel comfortable talking to me about yourself. Otherwise you cannot get the best out of the experience. Contacting a counsellor for the first time can be daunting. You might be nervous or struggling to put things into words. It is okay if you are not quite sure what you want from this, I will do everything I can to put you at your ease.

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
