My passion is to help people become more functional and effective in their work, home, family and social relationships.
Since I work integratively, I am trained in many different methods of psychotherapy. The therapeutic relationship is of prime importance and I see you in your family and social context. My therapy is sometimes long term and at other times short term depending on the client and the issue. I always make a contract for the work we will do together.

Qualified with a Bachelor of Counselling Degree and a registered BACP member, my specialty and interest is in Relationship Counselling which extends into Family dynamics – and broadens into various other general inter personal relationships including Workplace stress, Loss including Bereavement and Pet Loss.
Hello and welcome to my site. Life is not lived in isolation. Tensions, sadness and anger to mention a few, can upset your equilibrium. This psychological turmoil creates 'dis - ease' and can be daunting, leaving one depressed, demotivated, etc - it all needs attention. By giving expression to these feelings in a safe, talking therapy environment where CBT together with an Integrative approach is offered, the light can start to shine once more. Let’s journey together to find a path through to navigate life’s challenges with renewed strength and clarity. Naturally compassionate. Let's meet and greet!

Unhelpful emotions can lead to depression, stress, family conflict and many other presentations.
Thank you for viewing my profile. Whether you have had counselling before or this is your first enquiry,  finding the right counsellor can be a further challenge in addition to how you may already be feeling. You may be sad, anxious, depressed, isolated or overwhelmed with life. You may be grieving after the loss of a loved one. There may be things you want to unravel from your past that are hindering you in the present. Or you may simply need a space to just be, to talk through your worries and be listened to. Whatever your reasons, you have taken an important and courageous step towards your self care and growth.

I have worked effectively, but not exclusively with individuals experiencing low mood, anxiety, hopelessness, difficult family relations and low self esteem.
With so many counselling profiles to go through it can feel difficult to know which counsellor will be able to help you with your struggles. Will a male counsellor best serve me? Would there be benefits to seeing a female counsellor? What does a Psychodynamic Counsellor offer over a CBT Counsellor? If you are seeking counselling and struggling with these questions, please email me and I will be happy to offer a free 15-minute Zoom session to share some of my experience with you and help you find the right counsellor, whether that be myself or another professional.

Whilst my approach is broadly existential, I apply my psychological knowledge and training to draw on and integrate a range of therapeutic frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Attachment-based Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and solution-focused therapies - to meet the individual needs of my clients.
Empathy, warmth, and curiosity are human qualities I very much value. They are central to the way I work as a therapist, enabling me to foster strong therapeutic relationships in a safe, confidential space where clients can feel understood and supported. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their experiences and difficulties, and to facilitate an authentic engagement with the process of growth and meaningful change. In recognising that each person and their lived experience is unique, I strive to maintain an open and curious attitude rather than being guided by assumptions

I love spending time with friends and family, watching movies and travelling.
Hi! I'm Laura, a Clinical Psychologist trained in the UK and based at The Oak Tree Practice and Little Bee Clinic in Finchley, London. I appreciate that choosing a psychologist can be a tricky task so am always happy to have a chat before agreeing to meet! I believe therapy is an active process where we work together to really make a difference to your life, whether that be by managing difficult thoughts and feelings, to taking action to improve challenges you’re experiencing. Therapy can also be useful to help you better understand how your mind works & why you are the way you are!

I commonly use CBT, solution focused, family systems, and relational therapy.
Always anxious, feeling low and only ever imagining what a different life can look like? Are you tired of repeating the same patterns in life and ready for change? Continuously feeling misunderstood by others and sometimes even yourself? Do you often wonder who you are and what you really want in life? Our life experiences can make us feel like there is always something to worry about, we often worry about a yesterday we will never get back and a tomorrow that is not promised. We can work together to find happiness in the present. Therapy can be a daunting place, and everyone has their views on how it may help.

Life can be tough, and sometimes you can be overwhelmed by seemingly impossible problems. I specialise in helping adults dealing with the challenges of caring for others or who are bereaved. I also have a special focus on older clients many of whom have never had counselling before. It can be an enormous help when a trained, non-judgemental person, independent from those around you, really listens to you. My work helps you find a positive way through challenges, thoughts, and feelings. This helps you manage the complications of life which can lead to stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression if not addressed.

Hi, I am Shoshana. I am an Art Psychotherapist. Whether you are struggling to cope with current events or longer term unresolved feelings, I can help you explore the meaning of these emotions and how to process through them to become healthier and happier in yourself. By using art in the therapy, we can explore deep rooted causes for why we feel the way we do. Art helps us reach our unconscious voice that wants to be heard. Through developing a relationship in a safe and confidential space, I will help you explore what it is that you need to process.

Family Therapy Counsellors

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
