To tailor our work, I draw on various therapy models such as CBT, ACT, compassion focussed, DBT, NET and EMDR therapy.
Hi! I’m Sarah and I'm a Counselling Psychologist. I have over 10 years of clinical experience. I work in an NHS Community Mental Health Team for Kensington and Chelsea. I am experienced working with adults and adolescents including those with neurodevelopmental disorders: autism and ADHD. The most essential ingredient to successful therapy is the therapeutic relationship. My aim is to provide a welcoming and compassionate space built on trust, respect and understanding. During the assessment process we would identify your therapy goals and use this as a guide for formulating a treatment plan to help you make a positive difference.

With doctoral-level training in evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, and years of experience in NHS trauma, addiction, child & adolescent services, Higher Education, and the third sector, I am committed to consider your unique experience.
Do you find yourself struggling to juggle daily life and navigate relationships? Do you often feel disconnected from yourself and others? Perhaps, there are parts of yourself where finding acceptance and a sense of belonging is particularly challenging. Amidst emotions suddenly becoming too difficult to manage and self-limiting beliefs, you may be feeling stuck, wondering “why is this happening to me?”. As a counselling psychologist, I understand how these and other problems are a natural response, often resulting from difficult life circumstances, which might pose additional challenges on trusting yourself and others.

I use a holistic approach to therapy, drawing on methods like CBT, Gestalt, Mindfulness, Hypnotherapy, EMDR, and trauma-informed care, depending on what feels most helpful for you.
Living with unresolved emotional pain can feel like you’re carrying a heavy weight, one that slowly drains your energy and joy. It’s not just the emotions; it’s also the thoughts and beliefs that shape how you see yourself and the world. Life’s challenges—like loss, unexpected changes, or juggling too many responsibilities—can leave their mark, often without us realizing just how much they affect us. You might find yourself feeling stuck, constantly anxious, or struggling with low energy. Maybe you have difficulty setting boundaries, constantly worry about how others see you, or feel like you're always on edge, unable to relax.

Psychotherapeutic services offered include Psychotherapy CBT, NLP, Timeline Hypnotherapy Coaching, EMDR, Therapeutic Shamanism
‘We all need someone to talk to some of the time’ and across the multi-dimensional layers of personality and global connectedness, to be human means we will be faced with situations and events during our lifetime that we believe a hundred percent, we will have little or no chance of sorting out or finding solutions to. The truism is there are always solutions, some more easily achievable and likeable, others less so. Nonetheless these too are solutions and place ALL at the doorway of all possibility. The wisdom then is to stand in the doorway to commence the healing transformations of finding answers and pathways towards resolution.

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimising its ability to trigger anxiety.
