A qualified counsellor and trainee psychotherapist in exams preparation, I help clients from 16 up to understand their
relationship
difficulties be it with other people or with themselves. Together, we can decide what we focus on and what is the best approach for you, as everyone is unique. Talking freely about what is really on your mind, even if you feel ashamed or scared can bring great relief. You decide what you want to share, there is not right way to do therapy. Once you start, you are likely to feel less alone and better able to cope. Therapy can be fun too, at times.

These experiences have given me the ability to sit with the uncomfortable, and create a therapeutic
relationship
which is non-judgemental and warm.
Does life sometimes feel like a jigsaw puzzle with pieces not slotting together? I am a great believer that we need to invest in ourselves. When life becomes difficult and those pieces are just not fitting, counselling gives you the opportunity to focus on yourself, make you the priority in an otherwise busy life. I have been through such times and it encouraged me to train as a counsellor to help clients with general mental health issues and other life difficulties, such as grief, addiction, sexuality, domestic abuse and anger issues.

Do you struggle with anxiety, poor self-esteem,
relationship
difficulties, or other emotional issues? Do you sometimes find it difficult to articulate what the problem is or feel that words are just not enough to express it? It might be that Dramatherapy is right for you. Dramatherapy is a form of psychological therapy/psychotherapy in which all of the performing arts are utilised within the therapeutic
relationship
(BADth). It is particularly helpful when you struggle to articulate what the problem is or when words are just not enough to express it. Clients do not need to have previous experience or skills in acting, theatre or drama, it is not about performing well or being good at acting, rather it is about making use of dramatic tools to explore, address and make sense of troubling issues. I am Marta Paglioni, a Dramatherapist clinical practitioner registered with HCPC and full member of BADth (British Association of Dramatherapists). - Cover image from: Designed by Freepik)-

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
