People at times regard seeking counselling as a weakness, however in my view it actually shows great strength to seek support when you are facing issues in your life. I have supported many clients who have felt traumatised and unable to see the way forward, but we have managed to work through their issues with the appropriate supporting therapy, Being an Integrative Therapist, selecting the right therapy or therapies will be the most important way to build our therapeutic relationship, which will help you in dealing with your unique situation, and I hope that should we decide to work together we will achieve a positive result.

We might all experience times in our life when we're struggling to cope, and when we do, talking our problems through with someone who understands us can be just the thing that lifts the weight from our shoulders and allows us to find a new path forward. Although I try to shy away from labels and diagnosis, I've helped people suffering from anxiety, depression, grief, relationship and anger management issues, and more. It's vital that you feel comfortable talking to your counsellor, and so I offer a discounted first session to help you decide if I'm the right person for you.

Do relationships feel like hard work instead of bringing you joy and being a "safe heaven"? Whether you’re single, dating or in a long-term relationship, you still may feel lonely, confused or stuck. And you start overthinking, feeling anxious, guilty or “not enough”. Maybe you keep arguing about “small things”, avoid intimacy or notice the same painful story repeating with different people. But deep down, you long for calm, emotional safety and honest conversations – to feel close and wanted, and finally relax and be yourself without losing your independence

A friendly, experienced counsellor. My clients range from people with specific issues like grief and relationship breakdown to people who just don't feel right. Mental health can affect every part of our lives. It is therefore important to get help as soon as possible. I used to be a family solicitor, and so I specialise in helping clients through relationship issues and breakdowns. This is both individually and as a couple. This involves working through issues like anger, anxiety and depression as well as low self confidence.

A family unit can be strong and safe, but it’s vulnerable to disruption, whether that be stress, affairs, disconnection or divorce.
I’m a Relationship Therapist specialising in working with parents (couples, co-parents and single parents) to improve communication, manage conflict and parenting challenges; rebuild intimacy and trust, and approach parenthood as a team. Couples might be struggling with roles & responsibilities, sex & intimacy, conflict & tension, “roommate syndrome”, infidelity & betrayal, or issues stemming from their own childhood. While co-parents might focus on communication, boundaries and managing blended families. Single parents may want to work on recovering from separation, unhealthy relationship patterns, or starting to date again.

My name is David, and I offer outcome-focused therapy for complex challenges such as depression, anxiety, addiction, and relationship difficulties, whether these arise at home or at work. I believe lasting change comes from understanding where difficulties originated and how they continue to shape your life today. Our work may involve exploring past experiences and the emotions linked to them in a compassionate, empathic, and non-judgmental way. This helps uncover how earlier experiences inform how you think, feel, and respond in the present, creating the conditions for meaningful, lasting, and sustainable change over time.

I offer space for people who wish to explore fundamental issues. Some people are driven to counselling by a current crisis that means they need support. Others have been managing perfectly well but decide that repeating destructive patterns or underlying dissatisfaction now deserve attention. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling from Re-Vision. This is 'counselling with a soulful perspective'. The strongest influence in the training is Jung. In this perspective, times of real difficulty or despair are seen as holding a potential for change and growth. In our work you will be heard and witnessed.

How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
