I have an integrative and psychodynamic training and am experienced in working with a range of difficulties including complex depression and anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship problems and personality difficulties.
We seek psychological help for many reasons. Not only can psychological therapy help when life feels intolerably difficult, but it can also make an “ok” life more fulfilling. Therapy can help to reduce emotional suffering, support change, and promote personal growth. It is a collaborative process and the insight gained can help us look at life from a different perspective and enable us to respond differently to life’s challenges. People often seek support when they are facing life transitions or feel stuck in their lives.

We can all find life hard at times. It can throw up difficulties that feel overwhelming and out of our control. I support adults and teenagers through a range of issues including anxiety, depression , bereavement, relationship issues and Asperger Syndrome. When we experience distress, sadness, loneliness, anxiety or depressed mood, it can feel difficult to bear and leave us feeling powerless. Working alongside a therapist means you need not face these difficulties alone.

I can support you with a wide range of emotional difficulties including depression , anxiety, loss, relationship issues and past trauma.
Life can often be difficult, particularly during periods of change and transition. Sometimes emotions feel overwhelming and you may withdraw from activities and people you once enjoyed. Finding the inner strength to deal with such issues alone, can be difficult. I can help you gain insight into your difficulties and how you connect with the world around you. Together we could review and make sense of your past and present experiences and consider how they may be influencing your current thoughts, behaviour, feelings and relationships.

I’m an experienced, BACP registered counsellor working in Reigate, Surrey. I have many years of working online too-a necessity for now, sadly. If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’re feeling something that is getting in the way of how you’d like to be. Maybe you’re sad, angry, anxious, low, or struggling to like yourself. Maybe you’re feeling OK but you’d like to improve your relationship with other people in your life-such as a partner, family members, friends or colleagues.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
