I walk along side my clients in the metaphorical sense as well as literally, offering as part of my practice the opportunity to walk in nature to harness the healing power of the outdoors along side the therapeutic power of the unique one to one relationship which can form between client and therapist.
The aim of counselling is to promote healing and assist clients to take the next steps forward in their lives. Whether the issues stem from unresolved historic life events, acute trauma such as bereavement, separation or abuse or general depression and anxiety. Counselling can help a client to find their way when feeling lost, with the support of a reliable, benevolent and empathic person by their side who can gently challenge, encourage exploration and hold the client through their journey.

No intimate relationship is ever without its challenges. Yet how many of us are taught how to make relationships work? Or sex come to that. And who can we talk to if things aren't working as well as we want? I am the Lead Psychotherapist at Your Time To Talk, a down-to-earth therapy practice that specialises in relationship and sex therapy. Me and my team are here to offer you impartial, expert support. We work affirmatively with diversity, especially gender, sexual and relationship diversity; with couples, individuals and people in multi-partnered relationships, or engaged in BDSM and kink.

You might be new to kink, experienced, or living a 24/7 BDSM lifestyle. Perhaps you’re confused or worried about your fantasies and fetishes? Or you might be a kinkster looking for help with something else entirely. Whatever brings you to therapy, you'll want to work with a therapist who understands and accepts all of you. It’s the same with non-monogamy and polyamory. You may be new to non-monogamy and want to talk things through before opening your relationship. If you’re already non-monogamous/polyamorous, I can guide you through challenges like negotiating agreements, poly-saturation, jealousy, envy or communications problems.

Anxiety and depression really can hit us all by surprise, often not knowing the reasons why we feel this way?. So what can we do to make us feel better? Do we have to feel alone in this feeling? The answers are to Talk about our thoughts and feelings in a safe place with someone who will truly listen and care. For the goal to be able to wake up in the morning and not get that sense of dread and fear, when expected to get out of bed. To feel motivated again and above all to regain some form of ourselves again.

Psychotherapy deals with current problems. You may come because of a particular relationship issue or you may not be sure exactly what the problem is but find yourself repeating painful or limiting patterns in life. It may only be through talking to someone that you gain an understanding of what you want to work on. Therapy can be a gradual unfolding process where you have the opportunity to understand how you have become the person you are. This may include talking about how the past has influenced you, exploring your relationships then and now and the way you respond to your life as it is.

Often in life we feel we 'should be Ok' we can feel different or misunderstood - sometimes we feel alone and wonder what it is all about, this may cause us to hide our feelings in order to survive, I think counselling is for anyone looking to deepen their relationship with themselves and/or others and enhance their quality of life.
Hello, my name is Emma and I have over ten years experience as a counsellor. Contact me if you are looking for a safe person with whom you can explore matters that are important to you, this may include relationships, emotions, thoughts that concern you, or blocks you feel. The focus of our work would be you and your life. You may have goals you wish to achieve or feel hopeless and stuck. Whatever your concerns our work may entail looking at the past or take a solution focused approach.

The therapeutic relationship is important and as such I aim to build a secure and trusting relationship from the outset, providing a safe environment in which my clients can explore their problems, thoughts and feelings.
I am an experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with adults, young people and couples. I have a natural ability to empathise with my clients and am able to offer the support they need whilst working together to find tailor-made solutions. My clients often reflect on how their own journey has progressed through therapy with me, and many of my referrals come through word of mouth and the resulting network I have developed over the years. Before training to be a therapist at the University of Surrey, I worked in management and Human Resources. I currently hold a post teaching Psychology.

We are relational beings but having a healthy, satisfying relationship with our Self, let alone others, can be hard.
Do you need to talk to someone will listen without judgement? Are you feeling stressed, unhappy, like you are stuck in repeating patterns? Personal problems, difficult life experiences and relationship issues can create internal conflict, which then gets supressed. You end up putting on a 'mask' to carry on but the problems remain unresolved, continuing to have a detrimental impact on your sense of self and wellbeing. Exploring how you are feeling with a skilled therapist facilitates insight and conscious awareness, which enables you to explore possibilities and find solutions, which then lead to positive change and personal growth.

Hello, I'm Basia Louise. I'm an experienced Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Humanist/Clinical Supervisor and a member of BACP with a private practice in Newton Abbot. I believe one of the most important aspect in counselling, is first, in choosing the person you'll do your best work with and then in the building of that theraputic relationship of trust. I offer an open, caring, safe and non judgemental space where I help people get to the root of what is causing their problems and support them in discovering ways to change their lives for the better.

My work involves providing therapeutic support to individuals, couples and groups dealing with personal, social, or psychological issues.
You might be feeling stuck or wondering whether you've made the right decision. You might not even know what the right decision is. You might even want to explore who it is that you are, why you do the things that you do, or why you're in the situation that you're in. If that is you, then consider what it is that counselling and psychotherapy might be able to do in helping you to consider all these questions that you might have about yourself and your situation.

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
