You may feel depressed, anxious or alone in your problems & fears. Perhaps you struggle with not feeling ‘good enough’ or getting past trauma. I’m here to listen, really understand you/what happened/is still happening, with empathy and no judgement. But I’m also here to help change happen - which can mean challenging & changing unhealthy, unkind views of yourself or just helping reframe the past. The therapy process is often difficult because we feel laid open but I'll be with you & it works! I’ll give you practical tools too to help affect change. With time and patience therapy can help you lead a happier, healthier life.

It can feel daunting to seek therapy, but it helps to have someone alongside you while you are struggling. I will provide a compassionate space, and we can work together to explore your current difficulties, and to try to understand them better. Therapy can be difficult, but all of your feelings and moods will be met with empathy and curiosity, as meaningful clues to help me understand your experience of living. We will take things at your pace. As we explore your emotions and experiences, and make connections, you might begin to understand more about yourself. If unconscious patterns emerge, new choices can start to be made.

At times life can become too much, you may be struggling and feeling stuck, not knowing which way to turn. I work with adults who are ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, late diagnosed, self identifying, or wondering whether neurodivergence explains why life has felt harder than it should. Many come to me with burnout, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, rejection sensitivity, procrastination, people pleasing, masking, low self worth, relationship struggles, or the exhaustion of always trying to keep up. I help clients make sense of their patterns, understand their nervous system, build emotional regulation, reduce self-blame, and develop practical ways forward that fit their real life, work, relationships, energy, capacity, and needs.

As an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, and an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner, I see my role as first and foremost understanding what each person actually needs. That can look quite different from one client to the next. I aim to offer a space that feels safe and non-judgmental, somewhere you can speak openly, even if you are not quite sure how to put things into words yet.

Are you feeling in need of counselling support? Choosing the right counsellor to provide support is not always easy. Giving careful attention to both the context of counselling being offered and the qualifications and experience of your chosen counsellor is an important factor in this process .Life brings challenges for all of us. Sometimes, those challenges can make it difficult to manage daily life or maintain healthy, fulfilling relationships. In those moments, it can be incredibly helpful to have a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.

Attachment-based Counsellors
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioural Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
