As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, trained in Person-Centred, CBT and Attachment Theory with a particular specialism in working with traumatic loss and bereavement I can provide an empathic space for you to work through your current issues and to explore how your past may be informing your responses in the here and now.
Depending on your needs and preferences we may work 'top-down', re-evaluating current coping strategies and enabling you to live more closely in line with your values. A 'bottom-up' approach tends to be more appropriate when working with trauma and involves establishing safety before encouraging closer connection to emotions and somatic sensations.

I support individuals that feel like they are in a complete rut. You've tried the books, the videos the podcasts but mentally nothing seems to be shifting. You might have found my listing because you are absolutely exhausted from keeping it together, trying and nothing working. Perhaps you've spent years feeling misunderstood, whether that's due to ADHD, autism, difficult life experiences, or ongoing challenges with your mental health. You may be carrying self-doubt, anxiety, overwhelm, or a sense that you've somehow lost yourself along the way. If any of this resonates with you, please know you're not alone.

sessions can be face to face or via video call.
Life is busy, difficult and unpredictable. Running around after everyone else, putting yourself last, feelings of tiredness, overwhelmed or unappreciated. On top of those already stressful days you can be hit with something unexpected such as illness or a bereavement. It is ok to not be ok and sometimes help is needed to get through those extra difficulties that life likes to throw your way. Counselling with me is somewhere safe you can go to express yourself without judgement, have your feelings validated. you won't be told to get over. Clients are treated respectfully and with Empathy.

Are you carrying more than you let others see; grief that sits close to the surface, anxiety or anger that flares for reasons you don't understand, or the ache of feeling different, unseen, or out of step with the world.  Perhaps something in your life has shifted: a loss, an illness, a changing relationship, the unavailability of the coping tools that once kept you steady or a new awareness of how broken the world around you seems.  Many of the people I work with are used to holding everything together and keeping going, until they can’t. On the surface everything looks ok, but inside they’re exhausted.

In person/online sessions: Mon from 4pm, Wed-Thu 9am-5pm (50 mins).
You don’t need to have a clear “reason” for seeking counselling – whether you’re experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, or simply feel that something isn’t quite right. Starting can feel like a big step, especially if you’re unsure what you need or where to begin. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly about what’s been difficult, at your own pace. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, depression, stress, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and work-related pressures. Therapy can offer space to understand patterns, develop coping strategies, and feel more steady in difficult moments.

Counselling is held in person or online.
As a professional creative arts therapist I offer therapy through conversation and/or creativity. Saying what needs to be said, facing what needs to be faced takes courage. Moving at your pace we make sense of your world. Creative practice can be soothing with the potential to bring forward that which is out of awareness. No creative skills are needed.

I am available on Wednesdays ( face to face or online) and Fridays (online).
Our early life experiences often influence our beliefs about ourselves as adults. We may feel we should be different, or notice that we tend to see things in an overly negative light. I can help you to interpret situations in a more balanced way, to make positive changes in your life, and to move towards personal growth and healing. I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, and provide a calm and professional space for us to make these changes. Counselling can be richly rewarding, helping you to gain a new understanding of your past and a more positive vision of your future.

I have experience of working with adults and young people aged 12+ and offer sessions face to face or online via Zoom.
Are you finding it harder to cope than usual? Do you feel overwhelmed by the day-to-day stuff while everyone else is getting on with it? Are you worried about burdening your loved ones or maybe feel misunderstood or not heard? There are times when we can all feel that we aren't the person we used to be. When everyone around us seems to be coping and we question why we can’t. We may even stop doing the things we used to love or enjoy. This can lead to thoughts and feelings of isolation, loneliness, frustration, self-criticism and sadness. Together we can find the unique ways that support and nurture you now and in the future.

Face to face, online or phone sessions.
Currently 18 Years in Practice. Being human is mostly hard and life can be cruel. We see it time and time again. Bad things happen to good people, and we suffer. Each and every one of us at some point in our lives, finds ourselves lost and stuck. We can get depressed, anxious, angry, defensive and frightened. We can often avoid the things that bring us pain and as time goes on that list gets longer and longer and our life can feel smaller and smaller. Reaching out for help can be the hardest first step, but it's also the bravest and will prove to be one of the best decisions you will make for yourself.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
