My aim is to bring together effective approaches incorporating a variety of therapeutic models such as relational therapy, humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment theory, person centred and neuroscience. This will also depend on your individual needs. My experience also covers body psychotherapy and energy work along with solution based therapy and mindfulness. I offer both short and long term therapy and the length of therapy will depend upon the presenting issues and your wishes. Is there a particular problem you would like to talk through and explore? This could be to do with a relationship, work related or a repeating pattern.

Hi.. I am an experienced Counsellor specialising in Relationship issues for Individuals and Couples. I work from lovely private rooms in Totnes or Exeter, or Online, drawing on different techniques and 15 years experience with my own practice into a holistic, caring, approach. Talking helps to gain understanding, perpective and insight into issues, and for clients who wish to work on the more sub-conscious patterns and historical issues which are usually at the root of our stories, I provide a range of effective techniques that help to move things forward effectively

Mindfulness-Based Core Process Psychotherapy is a relational and embodied enquiry in which we can together explore how it is that you ‘do’ you. I offer a setting of compassion, acceptance and non-judgemental listening, and value these qualities in our working relationship. I am interested in what your experience is and, as you can begin to feel understood, in how you might begin to express and experience yourself differently. Having a place to bring yourself, your worries, your issues, can be a relief and can be deeply rewarding as we honour the feelings that move inside you and allow your own innate wisdom to find it's way.

It can be challenging to share our concerns and fears with others. We often worry that our struggles might be too heavy for our friends and family. I provide a private and secure environment where you can safely explore your thoughts and feelings. There is no loss or challenge too insignificant to discuss in therapy. You are not required to rush through your healing; this is your personal space to release the weight of life's burdens and reflect on your current and past experiences at your own speed. I offer a nurturing platform and my expertise to support your journey of personal growth and acceptance.

I work relationally, which means I will help you explore what brings you to counselling at this point in your life and what is important to you. Our work together may allow you to develop more awareness of yourself, your patterns and your story so far, ultimately allowing you more freedom in your ability to choose. My aim is to help you to lead a more fulfilling life. I will also be curious about your social, economic and cultural situation, as I am mindful of the stresses and challenges of living in the modern world. I work with adults, aged over 18 and I work both face to face and online.

You are welcome here just as you are, however dark, difficult or unclear things seem to be; however lost, sad, confused, anxious or vulnerable you might feel. I believe that therapy can offer hope when it feels like there is precious little of it. However, 'healing' might not involve a cure, but rather a coming to terms with our lives, which may be painful; a grieving, and an imaginative approach to what the symptoms of our distress might be pointing to. ...maybe there is wisdom and gold in the tears and grief. ...maybe we could gently make space for the parts of us that we struggle with and reject

I work best with clients who are ready to explore change and develop self-reflection and compassion. Some people arrive with big questions about life, identity, and direction. Others may not know exactly what they want, but sense something isn’t quite right — and that’s okay. Clients often choose to work with me because of my experience and the supportive, practical way I help them move forward. With over a decade of experience, I can help you clarify your goals and make meaningful progress in a way that feels manageable and authentic. I also offer Clinical Supervision - please see my website for details

Therapy can be a transformative time. Developed through a strong, honest working relationship with the therapist it can lead to significant healing, insight within ourselves & our lives. For me the human connection is important, looking at patterns, growing in awareness & feeling safe to practice new ways of being: finding space for emotions, new perspectives & making sense of our story. We often begin with how you are doing in an overview & if there are some changes to be made there. Then we move into what might be the roots of what you're carrying or experiencing. Our work goes at your pace & is a collaboration.

Life can be demanding, and at times deeply overwhelming. Stress, anxiety, depression, and relational challenges can make it hard to stay balanced. I believe psychological therapy offers a powerful path toward understanding, healing, and growth. With the right support, people can learn and even master the art of navigating life with resilience. I practise an integrative approach, drawing on multiple evidence‑based therapies to meet each person’s unique needs, especially when working with complexity.

Hello :) I’m a neurodiverse, queer counsellor offering down to earth support to people feeling lost, alone, powerless, and unsure how to cope. Working together effectively cuts through the noise of everyday life, allowing you to hear yourself and your needs more clearly. My approach is integrative, drawing predominantly from person centred counselling (we are equal), Gestalt (working towards wholeness) and existential counselling (what is this life all about?). By creating and offering a curious and hopeful space, I hope to help you to listen and respond to your emotions with love, understanding and empowerment.

My training has encompassed a range of these models; Psychodynamic, Attachment based Existential, Transpersonal, IFS, and Body psychotherapies as well as Mindfulness and CBT.
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Some come with a specific problem they want solving. Others want to explore more deeply - towards greater clarity, direction, depth and meaning in life. Some have a particular idea or diagnosis in mind but don't find it's enough to guide them towards feeling better. Rather than starting with a fixed label, approach or technique I start with you - what's happening right now, what have you tried, what are you hoping for, what are you concerned about, or maybe even dreading. From there we draw on a range of techniques and approaches at your pace, shaped by your needs and history.

Opening up to someone new can understandably make you feel anxious. You may wonder, "Will I be judged?" "Will I be told I'm a hopeless case?" A lot of the time we can be own worst enemy. We tell ourselves that we are not good enough, not capable, or not loveable. We get frustrated, angry, depressed, anxious, and stuck in a world which sometimes feels fake and hollow somehow. We allow others to bully us, walk all over us, hurt us and destroy our dreams. However, all is not lost. Often all we need is just a small change in our perception, and to be seen and heard. This can make a huge difference.

Transpersonal Counsellors
How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
