You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or carrying a grief that’s hard to explain.
I support adults navigating grief, loss, relationship struggles, carrying a lot emotionally, or facing moments when life feels too much. I also work with those exploring neurodivergence or cultural identity, especially when these experiences feel misunderstood. My approach is warm, respectful, and collaborative, helping you feel steadier, more aware.

There are many reasons why people seek counselling such as anxiety, bereavement or relationships and it can be a combination of things that makes someone feel overwhelmed.
My approach to counselling is based around integrative therapy, which brings together different elements of several therapies. Integrative therapists believe that there is no single approach that can effectively treat each person in all situations and so combine the most appropriate and essential components according to client need.

Is something blocking you in your personal or professional life? Perhaps you know that there are some specific issues you need to work through or that something just doesn’t seem quite right? Hi, my name is Richard. I help people understand themselves, express themselves, and feel better in themselves. The work can be emotionally deep so I like to keep things lighthearted and informal.

I am a person centred counsellor specialising in working with anxiety, low self esteem, grief and anger.
Life doesn't get any easier does it? Juggling work, relationships and family can be stressful and confusing, leaving us feeling emotionally drained. Sometimes the harder we work to please others, the tougher we are on ourselves. This can make us feel less than good enough. Deeper feelings of anxiety, sadness and anger can be painful and scary, so we become very good at burying them until they build up and overwhelm us. If you are experiencing feelings that are hard to manage I can help you.

Do you often feel broken? Or feel like you're never enough? These common thoughts often cross many of our minds, yet some of us are unable to shake it off. Some may feel it’s all they have ever lived with, this sense of not being enough for those around us. Having poor confidence and low self-esteem can be debilitating to live with. Daily life can become crippled with anxiety. You may find you always talk down or minimise yourself and struggle take pride in anything you do. As a qualified therapist with 9 years experience in CBT, I take great pride in my job and believe it is a privilege to be able to help and support others.

Life throws up things that we don’t expect, testing our resilience and ability to overcome situations that are often not of our own making. Talking can be key in understanding your predicament and help you move forward. That old saying "a problem shared is a problem halved" really is true. Talking about a problem makes it seem less daunting or troubling. As a counsellor I can offer you that safe, secure place to talk and help you find the right way for you.

I understand that seeking therapy can be daunting but if you are at the stage in your life where you need the space to explore painful feelings, it may well help you come to terms with or make sense of things like: absence, loss, uncertainty, anger, fear, isolation and accept or make the changes that are right for you.
My name is Siobhán Snowden. (she/her) I am an LGBTQ+ Person-Centred Counsellor, accredited with BACP. I work mainly but not exclusively within the LGBTQ+/ Gender Sexuality, Relationship Diversity (GSRD) and Queer Community. I am a Pink Therapy GSRD Accredited Counsellor also.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
