We all struggle to make sense of experiences at times, for example, when our
life
is in transition as we are leaving home or taking on new caring responsibilities. As a counsellor I can offer the opportunity to talk in confidence. I have worked in mental health for over 20 years and have trained as a social worker as well as a counsellor. Social networks and our sense of connection, can contribute to our emotional resilience and ability to face
life
's challenges. I can help you find a broader perspective and your own way forward. With Covid-19 with us, I am offering a "wellbeing session" for £20.

My clients often follow the path that I did towards my best
life
: counselling through the crisis that is happening right now;
coaching
to build for the future; and Quantum Energy
Coaching
to heal past trauma and break down the internal saboteurs.
Change can sometimes be hard. Facing changes in our
life
can bring forth a bombardment of expected and unexpected emotion: anxiety and fear about what will happen next; sadness and anger about the circumstances of the change; guilt and shame about past events. It can feel like a whirlwind of thoughts going around inside your head. Opening the 'box' and letting those thoughts out in a safe, compassionate setting releases the overwhelm, helps you to see more clearly what is right for you and builds confidence in your inner wisdom.

Counselling helps with finding you, your voice, your needs after being with someone who prioritized their needs over yours and tried to control your
life
.
I work with depression, anxiety and with people who have experienced control, manipulation and abuse in their lives. Feeling low, stressed and anxious can impact hugely how we manage our day to day tasks. Often leads to isolation from friends and family, because we feel that people don't understand what we are going through. In fact, we often don't understand what we are feeling and why we feel so low or anxious. Being with someone controlling feels like 'walking on eggshells' -not knowing what to expect next. You doubt and question yourself in many ways.

Hi, I'm Nicola, a qualified Person-Centred counsellor. Do you experience times when things just get too much and although you may have a good network of family, friends or colleagues you just need a safe space where you can go to talk, not be judged and know that whatever is spoken about is confidential. Whatever is troubling you may stem from your childhood, a relationship, a traumatic event or something else but whatever it is, this maybe preventing you from living your
life
to the full. The first step can be daunting, but together we can explore your thoughts, your feelings which will enable you to gain a greater self worth.

I am extremely passionate about educating and supporting my clients in building their self-worth, self-esteem and confidence for long lasting,
life
changing, proven results.
A therapist with a passion for helping adults build self-worth to reduce symptoms of Anxiety and Depression. Self-worth is an important part of our mental health, because lacking self-worth means that we never feel good enough, despite our best efforts. You may be someone that worries about what others think about you, you may fear making mistakes, put pressure on yourself to please others, doubt yourself a lot of the time and you may hide parts of yourself away from the world. The thoughts and behaviours linked to having low self-worth can leave us feeling exhausted, anxious, angry or depressed.

People who no longer have a full hour available for a session due to school closures and/or other family members working from home. People currently self isolating (for what could be as long as 12 weeks for some of us) and possibly suffering with loneliness - split your regular sessions in to halves and have the opportunity to touch base with me twice in one week. Helping to prevent loneliness and also talk through any other anxieties surrounding isolation. People who have never considered talking therapies, but feeling overwhelmed or anxious about the current situation and all sorts of other
life
problems that continue regardless

Counselling gives you the space to explore your emotions and why you are feeling the way you are. By talking and using strategies to enable you to move forward in a positive way. I adapt my approaches to suit my clients. The first session is an opportunity to paint a picture of how you are coping, how you are managing your emotions, timelines etc and then together we can work on the here and now and the process your feelings. This also gives us the opportunity to build trust. We can take it at your pace.

I work in a person-centred manner which means that I value building a positive relationship with clients; working to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment. This means that I want you to feel able to talk and express yourself about anything that may be troubling you. We talk about whatever you chose, and you can do so without fear of judgement. This enables you to become more comfortable with things as you discuss your thoughts freely, giving you an opportunity to consider things from different perspectives and over time building your confidence to explore different options and possibilities that are open to you.

Life Coaching Counsellors
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.
Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.
Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.
How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
