I help adults struggling with a broad range of psychological health challenges including; anxiety, panic attacks, depression, overwhelming feelings, phobias, OCD, low self-worth and confidence, to name but a few .
I am a qualified CBT therapist. My approach is both adaptive and solution orientated and works best for people who want to change how they are feeling, thinking and behaving. I can help you manage distressing emotions by changing your unhealthy thought patterns and replacing any unhelpful, destructive and self-sabotaging behaviours you may have developed with healthy, helpful practices. My approach is to help you develop a deeper understanding of who you are and why you do the things you do. I will help you develop a sense of self-respect and recognise you are stronger than you think.

I have a particular interest in helping adults with OCD and health anxiety.
I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist supporting adults with anxiety and depression. Whether anxiety or depression is a recent problem or something you've been struggling with for a long time the evidence-based and solution focussed approach of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can help you develop new perspectives and understanding about your challenges and help you form new approaches to managing and overcoming them. I am also an AREBT accredited Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapist. REBT is similar to CBT and particularly helpful for managing tricky emotions such as anger, shame, guilt, hurt, jealousy/envy and low self esteem.

Welcome to my practice. You may have arrived here through a stressful and painful journey. Maybe your life feels constricted, confined to the 'outside' looking into 'normality'. Maybe spaces around you - physical, social and cultural surroundings, family, work, education - seem unwelcoming or hostile. Maybe you feel exhausted by trying to protect your right to a space in life. Clients contact me for many reasons: anxiety/stress with physical symptoms, past adverse experiences, rape, abuse, anger, loneliness, disturbing dreams or intruding images, life threatening or chronic health conditions, life-long disabilities, life crisis.

I am an integrative counsellor specialising in eating disorders, as well as working with many other issues including self harm, anxiety, low moods, relationships, OCD & baby loss.
I strongly believe that, "a healer is someone who seeks to be the light she wishes she had in her darkest moments." I understand that taking the first steps towards counselling is not always easy. My own life has not been without struggles and my own experiences of personal counselling have helped shaped the type of counsellor I strive to be.

Clients generally come to me when they are struggling with some aspect of their emotions, thoughts or behaviour. My aim is to help my client with accepting or changing some aspect of these three areas. Every client comes with unique issues and from my seat I view the issues as one, "a block in the road to wellness". I am keenly aware that all clients come with individual goals and I am here to help. Many of my clients use the phrase “I just want to feel better". This is my hope for everyone who engages with me in therapy. “TO FEEL BETTER” I offer confidentiality, openness and transparency at all times.

Sometimes strong emotions such as anger, sadness and anxiety can leave children feeling overwhelmed. This can lead them to become withdrawn, have difficulties at school and in friendships, or show their feelings in behaviours which are unhelpful. Psychotherapy can help your child to put their feelings into words and help them to express themselves in a different way. They will have access to a confidential space in which they can explore what is causing their distress and, by understanding themselves better, they can have better relationships with their family and friends and begin to build their confidence.

With a specialist interest in working with young people and their families, I have enjoyed particular successes in helping teenagers and young adults manage both mild and complex social anxiety; generalised anxiety; phobias; and OCD.
Perhaps you’re a teenager or young adult, who experiences physical symptoms of anxiety (such as stomach aches or racing heart), which make you want to avoid certain situations. Or maybe you’re a parent or guardian, eager to get the best support for a loved one who struggles with anxious thoughts or behaviours. Rest assured, you’ve come to the right place. I care. My interest in providing timely treatment for difficulties such as these is the reason why I founded Flourishing Futures Psychology. I too was prone to getting tangled up with anxiety when I was younger, so I know how it can try to trip you up.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or like you’re no longer yourself. On the outside, life may look perfectly fine — but inside, you’re struggling, overthinking everything, or constantly battling self-doubt. Maybe anxiety and worry are stopping you from doing the things you want to do. Perhaps you’re tired of feeling “not good enough” and wish for a space where you can be honest, listened to, and supported. You might want to quiet the negative thoughts about yourself, to move through your day without anxiety holding you back, or simply to relax and enjoy your time without that constant mental noise.

Most recently I have been working with adults in the private sector and specialise in trauma, perinatal, eating disorders, OCD, depression and anxiety.
We all need to talk at times and sometimes we all need to take time out to work things through. This is a brave step, so it's important to know who I am and what I can offer; I am an experienced BABCP accredited CBT Psychotherapist and an accredited EMDR Practitioner, I also interweave 3rd Wave CBT techniques including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Schema therapy into my clinical treatment. I believe that ultimately we are all human beings that feel pain and require compassion and non-judgemental support.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counsellors
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, and sertraline, among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
