I work with clients experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties, although I have a special interest in bereavement counselling.
Are you someone who lies awake at night struggling to make sense of things that are happening in your life? Are these things you are struggling with recent, or have you kept them bottled up, perhaps, for a long time? Is it difficult to express these feelings to friends and family, maybe you are worried about overwhelming other people. If some of this sounds familiar, then contact me. Together we can work on helping you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, enable you to feel better and move forward with your life.

Alongside trauma work, I support people with many of life’s challenges — such as anxiety, low mood, stress, OCD, burnout, self-esteem, difficulties in relationships, loss, and times of transition.
I've received extensive training in trauma-focused therapies (EMDR, CBT, ACT) and had the privilege of working with a diverse range of people, including those who've experienced trauma from childhood abuse, combat, domestic violence, front-line roles, and pre/postnatal events. I've worked in various settings, privately and publicly, in the UK and abroad.

I'm an experienced counsellor with a professional background in NHS mental health services, offering therapy that's approachable and free from judgement. There’s no expectation to have the right words or to share everything - our work together is led by what you want to bring. Whether it’s having a good rant or gently exploring something you’ve been holding onto, we’ll start where it feels right for you. I work with all adults and students, navigating challenges such as stress, identity, confidence, anxiety, and life transitions.

Are you struggling with anxiety, a bereavement, PTSD, sadness, anger or having relationship difficulties?
Finding the right counsellor can be difficult. How do we know if our life is going to improve by talking to someone? I do offer a free 20 minute chat if preferable to discuss your individual requirements and encourage you to ask any questions before committing to a full session. I work with individuals and couples in a peaceful setting.

Whether you’re coping with anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, stress, relationship issues, family issues, the end of a relationship, living with chronic pain, low self-confidence, or simply feeling lost and burned out, you don’t have to face it alone.
Central to my work is fostering self-acceptance and self-compassion, which I believe are essential for making lasting, meaningful changes in life. It is a change that comes not from harsh self-judgement, but from understanding patience, and the belief that you are worthy of growth. This shift opens the door to real transformation and inner peace.

Bereavement Counsellors

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
