I offer individual therapy as well as relationship therapy and counselling supervision.
I offer face to face sessions, walk and talk session or remote counselling. I work using a person centred approach but will also adapt the work to suit the individual needs of the client, this may include incorporating psycho education especially with trauma working as this allows clients to understand themselves/experiences in more depth.

I am a BACP registered and experienced psychotherapist working with a wide range of issues which include anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, anger management, bereavement and parenting skills.
Hi, my name is Rimpy Sandhu. I have been working as a volunteer as well as in my private practice as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 13 years . I know it can be very scary and difficult to talk about your issues, revisit those painful memories. Sometimes it’s hard to recognise and express your own feelings. I offer a professional, supportive, confidential, non judgmental and ethical therapy in order to help with your presenting issues. Counselling helps you to understand yourself and to find coping strategies to deal with the day to day difficulties you might be facing.

I have 25 years experience helping individuals and couples who are feeling stressed, unbalanced, confused, angry, stuck, unhappy, or overwhelmed.
After 25 years helping people change effectively, I now teach what I call The How Of Change. I help people identify their goals & then work closely with them to help them achieve their goals. This may involve teaching them how to communicate effectively with others or it can mean helping them to understand themselves and what they want from life.

I offer specialist psychosexual therapy for individuals and couples addressing specific sexual/intimacy difficulties.
I understand that considering to approach someone to discuss private and intimate matters is not easy, but this can be life changing. Experiencing emotional difficulties that affect your moods and behaviour are more common than you think. This can significantly impact a wide range of aspects in your day-to-day life and relationships. Therapy is often an effective way to reach a better understanding of yourself and the causes of your emotional discomfort. It may also help you to find the best way forward to overcome challenges and move on to experience meaningful life improvements simultaneously alleviating pressures and stress.

My main aim is provide a safe, non- judgemental space where we can build an open & honest relationship.
I will help you explore your thoughts, feelings & emotions in order to help you improve your own personal awareness. I believe that this is paramount in understanding what may be going on for you. My aspiration is to help you understand patterns in your behaviour and why certain life experiences can leave us feeling out of control, helpless and confused.

I also work with teenagers and young people with issues including life changes, gender identity, self-harm and relationship issues.
It can seem like the hardest thing to do to access counselling, but it can be life changing if you take that first step. You may not be entirely clear on what you want but just have a feeling that things don't feel right and you have decided that you want to understand what, why and how to refocus and live the life you feel is best for you. Or perhaps you are very aware of a struggle with difficulties, which may already be formally diagnosed by another professional, and you want to regain some control instead of feeling that these issues take over. I can support people in achieving their goals wherever they are in their journey.

As a Christian integrative therapist trained in both counselling & psychotherapy, I work with individuals and couples facing a wide range of issues from anxiety and self-esteem to spirituality and sexual function.
We often spend so much of our lives in a place of reactivity - simply surviving and at the mercy of life's ups and downs. I help clients move to a place of reflection and heightened self-awareness, so they can choose to get off the rollercoaster and quiet the noise around them. This allows freedom to choose next steps with clarity instead of simply reacting. If this resonates with you, then I'd be privileged to help you too. One thing you probably need to hear right now is that you are far from alone, and support is always available if you are willing to reach out for it.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
