Are you struggling to communicate as a family or maybe discussions often end up as arguments ? Perhaps there’s been a significant event recently, for one or all of you, that’s had a big impact and needs talking through together ? Ill health, either physical or mental health, can really affect everyone and when this becomes overwhelming it’s usually helpful to have someone external to the family to process it all with.

Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or like you should be coping better? Life might look fine on the outside, but inside, you feel exhausted, stuck, or unsure who to turn to. Maybe you’re juggling responsibilities, managing health concerns, or facing a major life transition. Perhaps you're struggling in relationships, feeling weighed down by self-doubt, or carrying the emotional load of parenting a child with additional needs. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can offload, explore your feelings, and begin to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface.

A warm, relational approach is the foundation of my work with children, young people and their parents. As an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, I aim to enable each person to communicate and feel understood from the depth of their experience. This means finding each person's unique ways of expressing themselves, and tailoring my technique to meet them "where they're at". I create a safe space so that children and young people are able to bring their most painful feelings and thoughts out into the room with me. At the same time, humour and fun are important elements of my work.

Together, we will find hope and courage so you can move forward. I am known for being calming, gentle and resilient, creating a safe space for you to explore whatever you may choose to bring. I have an ability to reach out and connect at depth with people who are finding life a struggle, suffering and experiencing sadness. I consider it a privilege to work alongside my clients at these times, providing support and enabling insight, whilst they work through whatever is hurting them.

Hi there, my name is Ellie and I am a Counsellor specializing in trauma and the common coping skills that develop from it's effects. These include the areas of disordered eating, body image issues (including body dysmorphia), addiction (self-medicating to avoid the effects of trauma), being drawn to abusive relationships and patterns of becoming stuck and paralyzed in these damaging dynamics. The heart of my therapeutic work is to help clients discover their authentic self and to gently dis-engage from painful old beliefs they may have internalized from complex and overwhelming environments.

Maybe you've reached a point where you feel like life could be a whole lot better than this? Do you feel that now is the time to make some changes? Would you like to feel more connected? Less anxious, overwhelmed, or depressed? Maybe you've been bereaved and would like to connect and re-engage with the world. Do you need someone to listen to you and really hear you without judgement or criticism. Maybe you are feeling misunderstood and overwhelmed by your feelings. I would like to help you explore your life and feelings, hear and empower you to break the cycles of the past and feel connected to the present.

We are all able to agree that our physical health is variable, but it may be much harder to admit that our psychological health is in constant flux. All too often, we find ourselves buying into the idea of the "stiff upper lip": that "mental health issues" affect only other people - and "weak people", at that! It can be very daunting, therefore, to recognise that we need help and then to take steps to find a professional who will help things improve. I understand those concerns, because I've been there: and I also have experience of the positive effects of psychotherapy - from both sides of the consulting-room!

If your anxiety levels are very high, we'll usually work to bring it down first, then, once you're less stressed out, we'll work on achieving your goals. If you want to take back control and work in a tailored way to suit your personality, you are welcome to a free 30 minute consultation so we can discuss your needs & how I work. I use Counselling, Psychotherapy, EMDR, NLP, ERP, CBT and Hypnotherapy approaches to suit you. Some clients only need 6 sessions, to learn techniques to control anxiety or panic attacks, while others may stay on to resolve the underlying cause/s once they're feeling better.
