An attuned therapeutic
relationship
is therefore key, and the communication through our conscious and unconscious
relationship
is enhanced by the use of the sandtray and creative mediums, which safely embody inner experience through metaphor.
A warm, relational approach is the foundation of my work with children, young people and their parents. As an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, I aim to enable each person to communicate and feel understood from the depth of their experience. This means finding each person's unique ways of expressing themselves, and tailoring my technique to meet them "where they're at". I create a safe space so that children and young people are able to bring their most painful feelings and thoughts out into the room with me. At the same time, humour and fun are important elements of my work.

I believe coming to counselling takes huge bravery but within a trusting, safe therapeutic
relationship
,offers you a space to really unravel and understand reasons why you may be feeling this way.
When people ask (if they do ask) "How are you?" Do you reply "Oh I'm fine, all good" or "Yeah, not too great actually" But what your voice inside actually wants to say is "If only they knew!", "Did they even hear what I just said" or "I don't know how to admit that I'm not ok, I have to keep it together!" Life can be beautiful and amazing and at other times it can pull the rug right from under your feet, with completely no warning. Presenting us with situations that trigger overwhelming anxiety, sadness, anger and sometimes a feeling of pure desperation. Where you've never felt more disconnected with yourself and others.

My main source of inspiration to be practicing as a psychosexual and
relationship
therapist as it enables me to use my skills, experience, and knowledge in successfully treating people in overcoming their sexual problems which can cause a lot of distress, unhappiness and ultimately affecting their
relationship
with their
partner
if left unresolved.
Sexual problem can happen to anyone at any time across cultures, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, ages, and social/marital status. it can make us feel very alone. Some people feel so fearful, self-conscious or ashamed of their sexual problem that they suffer for months or even years without discussing their worries with anyone, even their
partner
. And yet sexual difficulties are very common and can have many causes including psychological or physical or both.

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
