For over a decade, I have worked in public healthcare settings in the UK and Ireland; helping people, of all ages, to cope with and recover from emotional and behavioural difficulties such as Attachment issues, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, phobias and the impact of Trauma/Developmental Trauma.
My work is formulation driven, meaning that I develop a psychological understanding of your difficulties with you which ensures that your healing journey is personalised to you. During therapy, I draw on various evidence based psychological approaches in accordance with both the problem being treated and my assessment of what will be most beneficial for you.

Hello, and welcome. As an experienced psychodynamic counsellor, I specialise in working with children and young people between the ages of 10-30. For children and young people, it can often be difficult to understand or express their emotions. This can lead to overwhelming, confusing or stuck feelings, perhaps resulting in low self-esteem and struggles with relationships with others, and themselves. Counselling and creative therapy offers a safe and supportive space to explore emotions, and develop an understanding of their thought patterns whilst building communication skills and emotional resilience.

However, sometimes life can feel tricky for prolonged periods of time and can leave us feeling overwhelmed and worried that things may never get any better.

I am passionate about building resilience and wellbeing and firmly believe that we all have the capacity to thrive and reach our potential.

Life throws up things that we don’t expect, testing our resilience and ability to overcome situations that are often not of our own making. Talking can be key in understanding your predicament and help you move forward. That old saying "a problem shared is a problem halved" really is true. Talking about a problem makes it seem less daunting or troubling. As a counsellor I can offer you that safe, secure place to talk and help you find the right way for you.

On paper, your life works but something still feels off. Maybe you’re doing all the right things, but you’ve lost the spark. Perhaps you notice the same patterns repeating and you are ready to break free of them. Our sessions together can be a place to figure things out, to untangle the thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that have left you feeling lost, disconnected or uncertain. I offer a warm, calm and compassionate space to help you understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with what matters, and create lasting change from the inside and out.

Hi there, my name is Ellie and I am a Counsellor specializing in trauma and the common coping skills that develop from it's effects. These include the areas of disordered eating, body image issues (including body dysmorphia), addiction (self-medicating to avoid the effects of trauma), being drawn to abusive relationships and patterns of becoming stuck and paralyzed in these damaging dynamics. The heart of my therapeutic work is to help clients discover their authentic self and to gently dis-engage from painful old beliefs they may have internalized from complex and overwhelming environments.

My primary clinical focus is on depression, anxiety, feeling sad, low self-esteem, work-related issues, relationship issues and chronic pain.
My sole focus is on you when you are with me, you control the space. Where you want to go, I will follow. Finding a therapist you trust is so important, certainly if you want to speak with absolute honesty and in trust (when I had therapy, this was the most important aspect for me, finding that right person where we would click) and I totally get this.

However I work a lot with men who are feeling depressed, anxious, struggling with confidence, anger, having difficulties with work and relationships or feeling dissatisfied with life.
That first step into counselling can feel daunting. My priority is to welcome you when we meet. I'm qualified, experienced and offer a half price first session, usually within a week of contact. Saturday and weekday sessions are available. We all find things hard at times in our lives. When we do, it can be good to work through our thoughts and feelings with someone who seeks to understand, not judge us, and offers helpful reflection on our situation.

At some points in our lives, we can struggle with overwhelming feelings which can sometimes be especially hard to cope with. Confronting these feelings and seeking therapy can feel like a huge step to take, but is the start of recovery. I am here to give you the space and time to unburden, and work through any issues at your own pace in a safe, comfortable, confidential and non-judgemental space.

A warm, relational approach is the foundation of my work with children, young people and their parents. As an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, I aim to enable each person to communicate and feel understood from the depth of their experience. This means finding each person's unique ways of expressing themselves, and tailoring my technique to meet them "where they're at". I create a safe space so that children and young people are able to bring their most painful feelings and thoughts out into the room with me. At the same time, humour and fun are important elements of my work.
