I have experience using models including CBT, CFT, ACT, and psychodynamic.
Making the decision to begin therapy often evokes feelings of uncertainty and vulnerability, so it's important that you feel comfortable with whomever you share the details of your experiences. I hope to foster safety and trust, while supporting you to explore and challenge difficult emotions. Most importantly, I'm interested in you, and how I can help you.

Using approaches like Compassion-Focused Therapy, ACT, and coaching, I’ll help you uncover your strengths, reduce anxiety, and build confidence to create meaningful, lasting change.
Life is so beautiful, and life is so hard. Maybe, for you, it feels especially hard right now. On the outside, you might appear fine, but inside, you’re overwhelmed. Anxiety, overthinking, or self-doubt could be holding you back, making it hard to focus or set goals. Sleep may feel impossible, leaving you exhausted and unmotivated. You want clarity, calm, and to reconnect with what matters most. You’re ready for change, even if you’re unsure where to start.

I also use CBT, ACT, CFT and Schema informed approaches.
Living with the impact of trauma and PTSD can make it difficult to feel safe enough to connect with others. The lasting impacts of trauma can negatively affect our mood, relationships, physical health and self esteem. Ongoing mental health difficulties can prevent us from being the person we want to be, and living the life we want to live. I offer a calm and compassionate space where you can feel safe to reflect on the experiences you have been through. We will work together to understand what has helped you to survive so far, and how to work towards a better future.

Currently offering a heavily reduced rate if you’re willing for your sessions to be recorded and viewed by my supervisor for my EMDR accreditation. I work with adults who have experienced trauma and may be suffering from symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Symptoms might include intrusive thoughts, memories and images from an experience, or even feeling like you are back there living it. This experience may be causing you anxiety, and you may be feeling worried about the possibility of it happening again. It is possible to heal from these experiences, get your life back and start living again.

Maybe you are struggling at present to understand why things are the way they are? Sometimes we can all get stuck in patterns of relating, both with ourselves and others, that are not the most helpful or productive. Sometimes this means our relationships might suffer, or our life, career and family choices. Having therapy with an experienced practitioner can help you. Therapy is about building a shared understanding of what you are facing. If you are struggling with trauma, family issues, career issues, relationships, abuse, coping difficulties, I can help. I am also happy working with children and adolescents

I use a variety of models and techniques in my day to day practice including motivational interviewing, CBT, ACT, psychodynamic and relational attachment based approaches.
I work with adults using a holistic approach who are feeling stuck. Many people are struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, and burnout. Some people are turning to alcohol, drugs or other addictive behaviours such as doom scrolling. I specialise in working with people who are worrying they aren’t managing their mental health and who may have experienced trauma, I offer an entirely non-judgemental, confidential, compassionate and safe space to talk about some of these things and help you to identify what changes you would like to make. I also specialise in working with ADHD and offering post-diagnostic support.

I often will use elements of Cognitive, Dialectical and Acceptance behavioural therapy in the sessions as I find that these flow nicely with emotional work and allows elements of the past to come up so that together we can understand how it is impacting the present and how we can change it for the future.
I can help you to reach the potential that you want and deserve to reach by helping you to understand your past, present and future. To help you to work through relationship problems, self esteem issues or letting go of the past. To enable you to see past blocks and obstacles so that you can control, minimise and eliminate any anxieties. To work with the negative emotions that you feel so that you can identify quickly what your emotions are telling you and then challenge them so that they do not control you. To magnify the positives and build on them for complete self confidence.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
