Maybe your mind constantly returns to them, your brain never seems to shut them out, this back and forth feels like you’re going mad. It's tiring, wondering if it will ever go away, or can you make it work? The immense confusion and exhaustion, and it feels like no one could ever understand what you are going through, how could they.. right? You don’t even understand yourself, you're just in it, bogged down by the racing mind and bargaining with yourself, and you're tired, alone with it and lost.

At times, we can feel overwhelmed by the events and demands facing us. Life can feel daunting, and we can lose trust in ourselves to find a way forward. We can neglect ourselves and ignore areas of our lives that are painful. We may notice beliefs and habits we are stuck with that are holding us back from living life fully. Psychotherapy can help unravel the patterns we are caught in. Learning to pay attention to ourselves in a supportive space can help us to shift our perspective and find new directions. We can develop a compassionate relationship with ourselves that will help generate new energy to overcome our obstacles.

Psychodynamic counselling or psychotherapy is effective in allowing you to make positive changes to your life, so you can deal with any overwhelming issues that are causing you emotional pain, unhappiness, or stress now. Perhaps you're feeling trapped or blocked by the past, feeling stuck in survival mode with old patterns that keep resurfacing. Maybe you are recently grieving from a loss of some kind, or can’t make sense of a general flatness or despair with feelings of depression, and anxiety. I provide a non-judgemental, inclusive space to explore these difficult parts, thoughts and feelings to gain greater understanding.

I work with individuals who feel disconnected from their authentic selves - perhaps you're feeling stuck, lacking direction, or missing purpose in your life. You might be struggling with past experiences that still affect you today, finding it hard to stay motivated, or feeling uncertain about your future path. Many of my clients initially believe they are the problem, carrying the weight of their struggles internally. If you recognise yourself in these words, know that you're not alone, and that what you're experiencing deserves to be heard and understood.

You may appear to be coping on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted inside. I work with adults experiencing trauma, emotional neglect, addiction, shame, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. These patterns are often survival strategies that can be understood and gently changed in therapy.

When life feels uncertain or overwhelming, it can be hard to know which way to turn. You may feel stuck, anxious, or shaped by external pressures—aware that something is missing or that you’re living for others rather than yourself. This can leave you struggling with self-worth, grief, or major change. You don’t need to have the answers, only the willingness to show up. If you long for deeper self-acceptance and authenticity, we can explore meaning, identity, and choice so you can move beyond feeling stuck, reconnect with your value, and feel more aligned with who you truly are and how you want to live.

I've been actively practicing as a Therapist for the last 9 years and have always worked with a variety of people from all ages and backgrounds. The youngest being 8 years and the oldest being 84. Many of these clients have lived in different places all over the country. This experience has meant that I have needed to become a different type of Therapist for each client that I work with to ensure that I am able to best support them. This has also meant that I have worked with people for many different reasons and has given me skills to comfortably meet people where they are and work towards their goals in Therapy.

Seeking therapy can be as confusing and daunting as the problems that prompt us toward it. I am here to support you through that journey. I see my role as facilitative and aim to help empower you as we define, discover and work jointly toward your goals. I believe we each tend toward our own best interests and that we are our own experts. I also believe growth and healing needs facilitating. To this end, I work relationally and am interested in how our pasts, experience and ways of relating to our experience influence our present.

Transpersonal Counsellors
How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
