You're here because something needs to shift. You've done the work, read the books, listened to the podcasts, maybe tried therapy before, and yet familiar patterns keep returning. You want a space that takes you seriously, moves at depth, and doesn't shy away from what's really going on.
My work is integrative, soul-centred, and direct. I bring therapeutic depth alongside a willingness to name what I'm noticing, gently but honestly. Sessions are a place to slow down, get underneath the surface, and build the kind of clarity and confidence that holds up in real life.

Often the hardest part of creating change in our lives is simply making the conscious decision to do so. If you have found your way here, you are at least considering therapy & wanting to know more about how it might help you right now. This is a positive first step! It shows great courage to face life's difficulties & to reach out for support. But how does change actually happen? Where do we start? And as the world works through its troubles, how can we focus when our minds are surrounded by anxiety & uncertainty?

I work with people experiencing anxiety, trauma, and relationship difficulties, including questions of identity, meaning, or spirituality.
People often come to me when they feel stuck in patterns —especially in relationships, emotions, or how they cope with life. You might look as if you’re managing on the outside, but inside feel anxious, low, overwhelmed, or disconnected.
Many people I work with are living with the impact of trauma, struggling with relationship difficulties, or feeling that life has lost meaning or direction,
I have worked in mental health since the late 1990s, initially as a registered mental health nurse, and later as a psychotherapist.
Therapy helps you understand these patterns, so you can start changing how you relate to yourself and others.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist who is interested in helping clients find a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives, coping with anxiety and depression and helping them find more fulfilling relationships. I am also interested in working with people who have been in relationships which have been abusive, helping them to learn to move forward into new more healthy relationships.

In my practice, it is my privilege to walk alongside individuals who are seeking to heal themselves as they grow through life. My role is it use my training as an integrative transpersonal psychotherapist to support the emergent qualities of balance and develop ego strength in service to one’s higher-self, even when the soul feels deeply weary. This is a long winded way of describing a therapeutic style that is guided by the client that adapts to the needs and is non judgemental, that has proven successful for many clients over the years.

My ideal client would be someone who already knows themselves a little, has possibly been in therapy before, so understands the path ahead. Someone who is emotionally intelligent and truth seeking; perhaps someone who seeks a deeper understanding of themselves, their context and their relationships.

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.
What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.
Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.
How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
