My main aim in life has and always will be to help people find peace and joy in their lives. This can be very difficult to source when life today is so challenging. Whether it is financial worries, loss of a loved one, disability, illness, family issues, bullying, work pressure, trauma, (amongst others) all can induce stress, depression and anxiety. Besides a wealth of life experience, I have a degree in Integrative relationship counselling, which enables me to work in a way to suit each individual and their issues. We will work together at your pace to find a healing path.

I qualified as a therapist in 2007, and later as a Integrative Transpersonal psychotherapist. I work in full time private practice and provide one to one psychotherapy. I am also an accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. As well as offering face to face appointments, I also see clients online, both in the UK and internationally. My experience of having worked with clients online over a number of years, is that it can provide an effective means of working at depth and supporting real change. Many of the approaches I use within a face to face context have been successfully adapted.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist who is interested in helping clients find a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives, coping with anxiety and depression and helping them find more fulfilling relationships. I enjoy working with people who feel like 'outsiders', and also have a wealth of experience in working with addictions and integrating disturbing experiences - including clients who want to integrate experiences with psychedelic substances, or have recovered from psychosis. I am also interested in working with people who have been in relationships which have been abusive, helping them to learn to move forward into new more healthy relationships.

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. I believe that the most important part of therapy is that we build a strong and therapeutic relationship together so that you can feel safe to explore your feelings and concerns. We all have times in our life when we need support and it is not always possible to sort things out with the help of family and friends. I would be there to listen and not judge, in a confidential and caring environment. Counselling can feel daunting but can help to empower you to explore and reflect on ways of making changes and moving forward with your life.

Using a blend of Person-centred, Somatic, Gestalt, and CBT approaches, I tailor therapy to what you actually need.
Something brought you here. Maybe a relationship that feels frayed, an anxiety that won't let you rest, or a quiet sense that something needs to change. Reaching out is already an act of willingness, and that's where effective therapy begins. I'm a psychotherapist with a double Masters in Counselling and 1,400+ hours of practice. I work relationally. The relationship between us isn't just the container for the work. It is the work. As an Indian/UK Counsellor fluent in English, Hindi, and Kannada, I understand the particular weight of South Asian family dynamics and cultural expectations, you won't need to translate your world for me.

Hi, I'm Elle. I'm an experienced therapist, who specialises in working with adults in their 20's and 30's who are feeling stuck. I originally trained as an actor, which means that sometimes, my therapy approach can lean towards being more creative than others, but any suggestions from me in the therapy room are only ever invitations and we would always work at a pace that worked for you. Having said this, I do see my role as a therapist as an interactive one, meaning that rarely in our sessions would we sit in prolonged silence, if you weren’t sure what to say.

If you’re living with the impact of trauma or relational difficulties, you deserve a space where you feel safe, supported, and deeply understood without judgement. I specialise in supporting individuals struggling with shame, anxiety, low self-worth, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, or feeling disconnected from themselves, others, or God. As a Christian therapist, I offer faith-sensitive counselling for those who want their beliefs thoughtfully integrated into therapy — without pressure, judgement, or assumptions. Your faith does not have to be separated from your healing.

If you're feeling lost in a world that is constantly changing around you, you're not alone - many of us are deeply impacted by the rapid changes we see in our society and on our planet. To me, counselling is not just about talking it out and finding solutions to life's difficulties. It's also about rediscovering who you are, who you can be, and how you relate to the people around you, as you navigate a world that can often feel so pressurising and overwhelming.

Gestalt Counsellors
What is gestalt therapy?
Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that to address unresolved negative feelings, emotions must be not only discussed but also actively expressed in the present moment. The term is from a German word meaning “whole,” and gestalt therapists believe that people should be considered whole entities made up of mind, body, and emotions. Gestalt sessions are rooted in the notion that a client’s total self must be discovered, explored, and confronted, so that they can take greater responsibility for themselves and their behaviour, learn to satisfy their own needs while still respecting the needs of others, and reconnect with feelings they might otherwise deny.

How does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy sessions do not just involve talking with a therapist. Clients may take part in role-playing, re-enactment, or artistic exercises like drawing and painting, with the goal of becoming more aware of negative thought patterns that limit happiness. One common gestalt exercise is “the empty chair,” in which a client sits across from an empty chair representing a partner, relative, boss, or a part of themselves—and, with the therapist’s encouragement, improvises a dialog with it. The intention is to bring the emotions raised by past conflicts into the present and work through them in the moment.

How long does gestalt therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for gestalt therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. New patients should understand that it may take some time to become comfortable with gestalt exercises but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions.

Does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy has generally been found to be as effective as other forms of talk therapy in helping people living with anxiety, depression, phobias, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders, as well as helping individuals reduce conflict in relationships. Gestalt techniques, on their own or in combination with other therapies, can also be effective in managing physical ailments including ulcerative colitis, migraines, and back spasms. It should be noted that some people may have trouble adapting to gestalt therapy’s lack of formal structure or to a therapist’s close observations of their body language and emotions; others may struggle to commit to techniques that feel unnatural, like the empty chair exercise.
