I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, trained to listen attentively and to pay particular attention to what might be going on behind the words themselves. The past casts a long shadow and often it is in understanding our early experiences that we can see how it continues to play out in our present. Anxiety, depression, addictions, our responses to traumatic events and difficulties in relationships all have their roots in earlier experiences and how we had to cope with them at the time. Change comes from understanding the underlying cause of our pain and distress.

I work with both couples and individuals, offering a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore the challenges you are facing. Relationships can be one of the most meaningful parts of our lives, but they can also bring difficulties, conflict, and uncertainty. Whether you are experiencing communication problems, trust issues, recurring arguments, emotional distance, or navigating a significant life transition, couples therapy can help. In our sessions, we will explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, improve understanding between partners, and develop healthier ways of communicating.

I practise from a psychodynamic perspective which has its roots in psychoanalysis, the founding approach to talking therapy. This means I am interested in helping people to be curious about themselves, to understand why they might think, feel or behave in certain ways which are often unconscious, and to understand where these patterns might come from. This involves you and I building up a trusting relationship that would enable you to bring anything (thoughts feelings, fantasies), however unusual or nonsensical, you want to talk about with me.

Something feels harder than it should and you might not even have the words for it yet. Maybe you're overwhelmed, anxious, or carrying grief you can't quite name. Perhaps becoming a parent has brought unexpected emotions to the surface. Or you're in the middle of a life transition that's left you feeling lost. I offer warm, relational psychotherapy tailored entirely to you, a space to slow down, make sense of what's happening and feel less alone with it.

Hi, I'm Lauran an Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, Emotional and Mental Wellness Therapist, Healer & Teacher. We exist with quiet confidence & inner knowing when our interiority is in alignment with our external lives.  My background in western Psychology has given me an amazing understanding of the diagnostic process, however, I believe true healing comes from looking at our emotional and mental lives and exploring deeply and insightfully the things that keep us emotionally regulated. I am strongly influenced by Jungian and existential schools. I work from Marylebone (W1) and Queens Park London (NW6) London.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist in private practice, and I welcome anyone who feels that psychotherapy may provide the opportunity to consider their life. It is a collaborative process between the person seeking help and myself. It affords the chance to discover in which direction you might want your life to go.

Seeking therapy is often a sign that something needs understanding or change, and it can be difficult to find the right person to support you on this journey. I provide psychological therapy for clients experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Some clients seek support for short-term challenges such as stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, while others come with more longstanding issues, including Depression, Anxiety, Complex Trauma, Personality Disorders and persistent interpersonal problems. I also work with parents, who experience difficulties with their children.

I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist , trained in Attachment theory from the Bowlby Centre.
If you have suffered trauma in your earlier life, or are having difficulty coping with day to day life, due to feelings of depression and or anxiety and want to explore what is underneath these problems and what may have contributed in the past to keeping them going and are keen to better understand the hidden parts of yourself then I feel I could be of help to you. If you feel that the very earliest relationships in your life, going right back to being an infant have been damaged in some way and have created barriers for you in forming new relationships, then I think we will have space and time to work together on these.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be affected by past experiences that still feel present, experience challenges in relationships, or find it difficult to express your needs and set boundaries. At times, you may feel low, disconnected, or not quite yourself. You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, unable to switch off or concentrate, or feel stuck and unsure how to move forward. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty. At other times, especially in a fast-paced and demanding world, there may simply be a sense that something is not quite right.

My name is David, and I offer outcome-focused therapy for complex challenges such as depression, anxiety, addiction, and relationship difficulties, whether these arise at home or at work. I believe lasting change comes from understanding where difficulties originated and how they continue to shape your life today. Our work may involve exploring past experiences and the emotions linked to them in a compassionate, empathic, and non-judgmental way. This helps uncover how earlier experiences inform how you think, feel, and respond in the present, creating the conditions for meaningful, lasting, and sustainable change over time.

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviours. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behaviour is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
