Struggles with distress, rumination, self-criticism, destructive and repetitive behaviours you don’t want, relationship difficulties and loss are experiences that I believe will impact all of us over the course of our lives.
I can offer connection and understanding. I can offer a place where we can make sense of both the past and your experiences right now. A place where we can see your strengths clearly. A place to work out what is holding you back from living a life with meaning, purpose and healthy connection.

As an experienced psychotherapist, I can help you manage current life challenges like sudden changes or losses; anxiety; relationship issues; bereavement; loneliness; parenthood; depression or past experiences intruding on your present.
As we are all unique, I don't offer 'one size fits all' psychotherapy and counselling. Rather I draw on different therapeutic approaches to best meet your individual needs. Some clients want to explore how their past limits their present, others prefer to focus on the now. Please see my website for more detail on how I work and can help you.

My focus will also be on valuing and developing our relationship to maximise its therapeutic purpose.
As a person, and a counsellor with over 10 years' experience, I am aware that finding our way through the challenges of life can sometimes seem like an impossible task. Often, we won't share our experience with others because we don't want to be a burden or, we are fearful of being judged. As your counsellor I will offer you the time and space for you to reflect on your feelings, as you process what is going on for you. Our relationship will be one where you feel heard, valued and supported on your journey of self-discovery.

Zoom and telephone counselling is a way to receive the help that you need from the comfort of your own home, car (or even in the park with headphones).

Alongside my skills is the heart of the therapeutic relationship and the mothers journey towards wellness
I provide a space to talk about feelings, worries, anxiety, depression in this vulnerable period for the mother and in the relationship with her baby. To talk about this new relationship with your baby, to learn, to grow. To know that good enough is good enough. That you do not need to do this alone. You are not your symptoms.

As a clinical psychologist, I specialise in offering therapy for relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, and difficulties with anger.
"Dianne helped my husband and I bridge seemingly impossible gaps in our understanding of each other and ability to communicate despite considerable differences. Dianne took us from a place where we encountered apparently unresolvable emotional blockages daily, from a place of frustration and chronic misunderstanding to a place where we were able to appreciate each other's feelings and show love to one another increasingly unreservedly. She was skilfully professional, without ever faltering in compassion or humanity. She has given us the tools we needed to succeed in our marriage and we are hugely grateful for her help. " Annon

I believe the therapeutic relationship is key to exploring the possibility of change.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or a little lost. Perhaps you’ve noticed familiar patterns in your relationships, at work, or in your inner world that feel hard to shift or understand. These experiences often have roots in earlier life—shaping how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and how we cope with the world around us. You might be looking for space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what feels difficult. Therapy offers a gentle, supportive place where we can begin to explore these thoughts and feelings together. You don’t need to have the answers—just a willingness to begin asking questions.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While the need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
