Anxiety Counselling in Cheltenham
I can help with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
I am deeply committed to supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse/assult and domestic violence, because I believe in the incredible resilience and strength that survivors possess. The effects of trauma can feel overwhelming and isolating, but I have seen how the process of therapy can foster healing, restore hope, and rebuild a sense of control.

You may have a child struggling with being at school, or perhaps you find yourself constantly at loggerheads with them. Perhaps they can't sleep, or don't want to get up in the morning, they might feel lonely, or misunderstood, criticised, or attacked . You may have tried every strategy you can find, to persuade your child to eat, or listen, or simply follow instructions. We all believe that childhood should be a time of simple happiness, but in fact this is a time of enormous developmental challenge, and many things can make it hard for children and adolescents to tread the path towards a resilient, positive, independent adulthood.

It is just human to respond with hurt, shame, anxiety, or by feeling lost, stuck, and depressed.
My approach offers a creative and stimulating space for you to create a more meaningful life and explore new ways of approaching your relationships with yourself, others, and the world. It begins by learning who and how you are, and then collaboratively we can shape ways in which you can grow, heal and evolve.

In our work I will invite you to be curious, to allow deeper feelings to surface and to explore them with me as a reliable, resilient companion. I believe that togerther, allowing our creativity and imagination free rein, we can find a place of calm in the turbulence. A place where you can come to accept things you cannot change, have compassion for your most vulnerable self and hopeful growth towards your true whole self. I work in an integrative style, which means I can draw on different approaches within psychotherapy to build a working alliance personalised to you while also drawing on my own inner responses and felt sense.

Whether you are an adult struggling with the patterns of past behaviours or the impact of narcissistic relationships or you are a young adult that is struggling to work through your identity and who you are, together we can process this and how to move forward. Our work together is to help you heal from those past experiences and trauma so you can release what holds you back and rediscover you.

My name is Cat and I am a somatically-informed integrative therapist offering online sessions to adult clients across the UK. Before becoming an adult counsellor, I worked for 7 years supporting young people's mental health in education, using therapeutic techniques such as EFT (Tapping), Mindfulness and Drawing and Talking.
Now working with adults with a range of presentations for local charities and in my private practise, my integrative somatic counselling training allows me to offer a more embodied approach to traditional talking therapy, touching in to my clients' felt sensations as well as their thoughts and emotions.

There is no level of sadness or worry that means therapy is right for you, our experiences and our responses are unique so the route through those feelings is also very personal.
However difficult it may feel, I’ll be alongside you offering a balance of compassionate exploration and supportive challenge where you are safely and gently held. I integrate a range of skills and models of therapy from somatic (felt sense) experience, to IFS, and tailor sessions to the needs of my clients.

Feeling disconnected, anxious, and unsure about who you really are?
I'm a qualified relational psychotherapist and coach. I draw on psychodynamic, attachment and systemic approaches to understand how you came to be who you are, how your past shapes your present, and what's quietly keeping you stuck. I blend therapy with coaching, alongside somatic and creative practices, to turn that awareness into practical change.
