People often reach out when something in their life feels heavy, confusing or quietly overwhelming. You don’t need to have a clear story to begin. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, speak honestly, and explore what feels out of step or painful. Much of what shapes us lives below the surface — old patterns, shame, grief, relationships, the body’s responses. Therapy is a place to bring these into conversation, gently and at your pace, so that new understanding and possibilities can begin to emerge.

Talking about your feelings, your emotions, your behaviours and your thoughts can feel overwhelming and conflicted, not knowing where to begin, this can seem scary and uncomfortable. My role is to support you to acknowledge, explore, accept, and understand them in order to achieve growth & positive change. My philosophy is that you hold your own answers internally but you are unable to access them, working collaboratively we will unlock them using your strengths and gaining empowerment.

I’m Elizabeth, a mum of three and a specialist perinatal ( pregnancy and postnatal) Therapist working with individuals and couples during pregnancy and early parenthood.
Parenthood is messy. Nobody tells you how messy - not just the sleep, the clutter, the nappies, but the way it can unravel your world, your relationship, your mind. The way it bring things up from your childhood. Together, we can make sense of the messy bits - maybe it's the unexpected resentment, a birth that wasn't what you'd hoped, the arguments about who's more tired, trauma that’s resurfacing, or the feeling you're not getting it right.
Together, we can move forward, through the mess - to something calmer, towards processing the trauma, towards feeling like a team again, towards feeling more present for the joyful moments.

I have a special interest in pregnancy, postnatal/ postpartum period and motherhood beyond, supported by a dedicated supervision group, and work with adults at significant life crossroads.
You came here because thinking harder about your life isn't working. You may have a sense of your patterns, but still feel stuck.
Autumn often brings that back-to-school urge to take stock. You may be navigating a major transition: new parenthood, relationship difficulties, stress or anxiety, workplace or university pressures. Or it may be a quieter sense that something isn't adding up. Perhaps you're sitting with a grief about the state of the world that doesn't quite have a name. Whatever you bring, I work with all of it.
Together we find a way through that goes beyond thinking into something that actually shifts.

Hi, I’m Caroline and I’m an integrative, heart-centred psychotherapist. I’m glad you’re here. I know it can feel like a lot to look for a therapist and reach out for support. I tried to make my page punchy and straight to the point, but it didn’t feel like me anymore, so I decided to write you a letter instead. I hope this will help you to get a sense of whether I’m the right person to hold space for you, so get yourself a cup of tea and have a read.
I’m guessing you’re here because you’re carrying something that you can’t work through on your own.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Counsellors
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.
When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.
How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioural therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviours. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.
