I've supported clients from all walks of life to achieve goals of reducing anxiety, coping with life's stresses, adjusting to change such as illness, empty nests, retirement, bereavement and loss.
Hello. I'm Clare. If you're here and reading this, you're probably looking for support with your mental health. I can be there for you in a way that suits you best. Therapy is not one size fits all; I first work to understand where you're at and then I'll meet you there. Are you looking to worry a lot less or enjoy your life a lot more? Do you want to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours? Would you like greater emotional resilience? Perhaps you're a self-improver wanting greater self awareness? I can help with that. You are not alone and you deserve support.

I have over 18 years experience working as a counsellor and have experience of working with clients with eating disorders, couples, OCD, anxiety, grief, abuse, loss, post-traumatic stress, trauma, depression, stress, addictions, gambling, autism, ADHD, sexuality, self-esteem, sexual identity, parenting issues, self-harm, anger issues, co-dependency
Hi, I'm Sarah. I have over 18 years experience as a counsellor. We all have times when we find it hard to cope. Counselling can help you understand why you think, feel and act like you do. It can help you develop positive strategies to get what you want out of life. How we think, feel and behave is part of being human. Problems can arise when we get 'stuck' in negative thought patterns; when our feelings become overwhelming; when our behaviour is self-destructive and doesn't result in us getting what we need; when we worry about the future, dwell on the past and find it hard to live in the present.

We all face Challenges and internal conflicts at some point in our lives; there are three solutions to every problem; Accept it, change it or leave it. If you are reading this profile you are probably on the road of wanting change, you don't have to struggle in silence and the time for change is now. The most important ingredient of change is the acknowledgment of the situation.Sometimes it can be very hard to explain what is going on in your head or your heart when you don't even understand it yourself , this is where speaking to someone with decades of experience makes a difference.

I worked for 15 years in the NHS as a counsellor with people facing life limited illness, end of life, disability and bereavement.
Hi, I’m Anita, and I believe counselling can offer a calm, reflective space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply and make sense of what you’re experiencing. People come to counselling for different reasons. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why things feel difficult. You might be facing a specific challenge, noticing old patterns repeating, or finding that past experiences are still shaping your present. Sometimes there’s a sense that something isn’t right, and you want space to explore it. You don’t need to arrive with the right words or know what you want to work on, we can begin wherever you are.

I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist & Counsellor specialising in loss, grief and trauma.
We all experience losses in life – not just when someone dies but when we lose anything that is important to us: our relationships, our dreams of having a family, our health, our home, our job, our independence, our pets, and our hopes or expectations. Often, we are able to grieve for those losses and adjust but sometimes we are left feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, angry, guilty, ashamed, withdrawn, or numb for many months or even years later. Adjusting to losses in life is not about ‘getting over’ them but about finding ways to live a life that includes them.

Much of what shapes us lives below the surface — old patterns, shame, grief, relationships, the body’s responses.
My work is relational and depth-oriented, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic and transpersonal traditions. Together we explore the stories your symptoms and patterns may be carrying. This isn’t about quick fixes, but about understanding yourself more deeply and finding a clearer, more grounded way of living.

I help people adapt to changes - or loss - at work, at home, with partners or in culture, I help to make changes, too: it might be something immediate like a phobia or more long-term, like anxiety, pervasive self-criticism or depression.
My caseload is full so I am not able to take on new clients until September '26. I work with people from all walks and with many issues but all feel a need to change something in their lives. I can create a safe space to explore and understand the problems you bring, both individually or together with partners. I have helped many clients deal with the issues arising from depression, self doubt, anxiety and trauma, or changing notions of self worth, especially in the face of work stress.

Hi, and thanks for reading. Reaching out for support can feel daunting, whether you’re a teenager, young adult, or adult. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. Sometimes having someone to listen, understand, and help you make sense of what you’re experiencing can make all the difference.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
