Most people aren’t broken. They’re just used to not being heard.
I work as a counsellor and psychotherapist from a person-centred perspective, grounded in a simple but often overlooked belief: people already hold the capacity to understand themselves, face what’s difficult, and change the direction of their lives.
In a culture obsessed with quick fixes and neat labels, I offer something different—a space where you don’t have to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or be anything other than real. A space built on honesty, empathy, and acceptance.
I don’t position myself as the expert on your life.

“I wish things could go back to normal!”, “I want to feel like me again!” Does this sound familiar?
Many of my clients have said this in one way or another. Do you live with a sense that no one understands what you’re feeling?Sometimes it comes with a sense of shame or judgement that you can’t “just get back to normal.” Many of my clients have struggled with the effects of cancer diagnosis, others grief or loss and some have become full time carers. I offer a space for you to explore your feelings (all of them) and the support to help you make decisions about how you want to live in this new “normal”.

People access therapy for many different reasons, but generally we are most likely to reach out for help when our usual coping strategies are no longer effective. At these times it is not always helpful or possible to turn to family or friends, and their well-meaning support may not always help. I will provide a calm and confidential space where you will be able to safely share what is troubling you.

I specialise in trauma, attachment and family systems, offering therapy for adults, children, teenagers, parents and families.
Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns they can’t quite explain. I support adults, children, teenagers and families experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, ADHD, relationship difficulties, school difficulties, challenging behaviour or the lasting impact of difficult experiences. Through a trauma-informed, attachment-focused and family systems approach, we look beneath the surface to understand what’s happening, make sense of patterns and strengthen relationships, helping create meaningful, lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms.

Couples therapy is usually for ninety minute appointments. There are often two aspects to the therapy: Coaching in the form of skills/tools you can utilize (relationships are complicated, and we get no training in how to be successful in them), and secondly, healing work on any developmental wounds or traumas which may be impacting your current situation.

Parenting Counsellors
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
