I continue to support my work with CPD with a particular interest in Attachment, ADHD and Bereavement.
I understand how daunting it can be to begin therapy. Whatever you’re struggling with, be it depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship or attachment issues, we can look at the jigsaw pieces of your life together, to help you gain clarity. This may involve exploring the past to identify patterns in emotions and behaviours which shine a light on current issues. You may be grappling with life’s meaning after bereavement or a relationship breakdown. Any kind of loss can have a huge impact on our mental wellbeing. I work with you to help you make sense of things & find meaning and purpose in order to move forward and feel less lost.

I am trained in, and experienced with, supporting people facing common mental health difficulties such as depression and anxiety. My deeper passion lies in trauma-related work, and I am well-equipped to help you explore life experiences that may have left you struggling in the present day. These experiences can sometimes contribute to developing mental health challenges or affect your day-to-day wellbeing, and together we can work gently and safely through their impact.

Choosing the right therapist can be a challenging task. You might be asking questions like “Are they good?” “Will I get on with them?” “What if I waste my money on the wrong person?” . These are all valid questions to ask. The approach I take in my work is making sure everything is tailored to you. Whether that’s asking you what your learning style is, being clear about expectations and ultimately making sure that you feel that our therapy space is safe and comfortable. My approach is ultimately collaborative and sessions can be at a pace suitable for you. So if you feel ready to take that leap with me then I’d be honoured.

Hi, I’m Lynda, a counsellor based in Rochester. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or carrying a grief that’s hard to explain. Maybe something has changed in your life, or perhaps it’s been building for a while. I offer a calm, steady space where you don’t have to hold it all alone. We’ll take things at your pace. Sometimes we may sit with what’s heavy; other times, we might begin to gently untangle it. Together, we’ll explore ways to cope and feel more grounded in who you are.

Are you looking to make sense of things?  We seek counselling for a number of reasons including anxiety, trauma, depression, loss, stress, relationship difficulties - but also to gain a greater understanding of the ‘self’ and improve psychological well-being. Mostly and put simply, we want to learn to feel better about ourselves.

Good rapport with your Counsellor's the first step towards achieving change. My Counselling approach is different to anything my clients (both Adults & Children) have experienced before and it's because of this, they've felt at ease quickly and gained maximum benefit from their sessions. I've Counselled since 2019 and have a diverse range of additional skills that I integrate into my Counselling work. I work with Victims of Crime within Kent, as well as Children & Families who've been bereaved. I have over 10yrs experience working with Children & Young People, including those with additional needs, so my approach is inclusive.

I am a neurodivergent integrative arts psychotherapist and supervisor with over 15 years of experience working with adults/families. My approach is trauma-informed, relational and creative, drawing on Internal Family Systems alongside arts-based, attachment-focused and neurodivergent-affirming practices. I work with a strong awareness of intersectionality, recognising how neurodivergence intersects with trauma, identity, relationships and wider systemic factors. My work is collaborative and tailored, shaped by each person’s individual nervous system, needs, strengths and ways of being.

You may appear to be coping on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, stuck or emotionally exhausted. Perhaps certain patterns keep repeating in relationships, work feels harder than it should, or past experiences continue to influence how you think, feel or respond. You might be experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties or a growing sense that something needs to change. You’re looking for clarity, steadiness and a space where you can understand yourself more deeply, rather than just manage day to day.

I work mostly with autistic and ADHD adults, people from stressful or unhappy families, and people in their 20s facing a quarter-life crisis.
My approach to therapy is person-centred, which means I believe that you know best what's right for you, not me. I'm there to be accepting, curious and safe, and to help you find your own answers. I've found this works especially well for neurodivergent people.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
