With over 12 years of clinical experience, I offer a safe space to help you find ways to cope with the inevitable suffering we can all face in life, and move towards living a more meaningful life. My work primarily involves offering individuals the time to feel listened to and heard, to explore and reconnect to our authentic inner self that may be deeply over-shadowed by fear, traumatic memories, self-doubt, difficult thoughts, worries, sadness, loss of motivation and/or feeling stuck in life. Alongside CBT and more traditional ways of working, I also offer the opportunity to work within spiritual dimensions of psychotherapy.

Listening empathically and without judgement will be at the heart of what I offer during our sessions together. No matter what feelings or circumstances have brought you to therapy, I can offer you a calm and safe space where I will encourage, guide and work with you to let go of the unhelpful ways of being that may be holding you back. I can provide short term counselling if you have a specific issue in mind. This may be right for you if a recent event, such as a job loss or bereavement is troubling you. I also work with longer term clients at a deeper level, exploring long standing issues or repressed feelings.

My clients are at the heart of every session, creating a welcoming, safe and relaxed atmosphere where communication can flow freely and openly. The most important thing is that you are comfortable, at ease and feel able to talk. I aim to help you see your challenges more clearly and to face the problems with less anxiety and tension. It can be an opportunity to think and speak your truth without fear of judgement. I am trained to incorporate techniques associated with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Guided Visualisation, Psycho-dynamic Therapy and Transactional Analysis amongst others into my work.

I'm an accredited therapist who offers play & creative arts therapy, TraumaPlay and talking therapy. I have a therapy dog who loves to be involved.

My belief is we each have within ourselves the innate capacity to bring about the growth and change we long for: it simply needs rediscovering and nurturing for our way forward to emerge. What I can offer is an attentive environment and the kind of supportive relationship that nurtures that seed within. We all experience life events which can be disturbing, distressing, troubling, making our lives feel difficult or off balance: in providing a supported space- set apart from the routine of life- I offer the opportunity to explore and reflect upon whatever is causing you concern: together.

I have experience in many different client issues, to name some- self harm, relationship difficulties, body dysmorphia, gender dysphoria, neuro diversity, relationship difficulties, bereavement, miscarriage, infertility, addiction and trauma. I have a strong grounding in eating disorders, LGBTQ issues and sexual abuse. You may use the space how you wish to and I will be alongside you, supporting you along the way to find your own answers and come to your own solutions, conclusions and understandings. I wouldn't offer you advice but would facilitate what you would like to work on and what you wish to explore.

During all of our lives we have times when we find that life is harder to process, events are challenging to tolerate and find a path through. These are the times where we most need a safe place to talk – and these are also the times when it’s most difficult to reach out. We can be held back by fear, by negative experiences, or even by our own inner voice. I know how challenging it can be – and I aim to provide not only a safe space to speak, but also a wide range of experience and training which enables me to support you in the way that you most connect, and which feels most comfortable to you.

Welcome. I meet each individual as they are, I don’t find labels helpful. Each individual has a healthy, creative part, the part that is seeking healing. With gentle curiosity we learn to trust this part of you, it leads our process, and over time, as we work together, new possibilities are found. If you are struggling with feelings of meaninglessness, stuckness, being lost, angry, depressed, disconnected; or are having difficult memories, maybe traumatic; difficulties with physical pain recovery or prescription drug addiction, I am happy to meet with you and talk about how we can work together. Although most of my experience has been working with adolescents in schools and charities, I also work with children and adults. The psychodynamic approach focuses on understanding the root causes of a client’s current distress. These causes may lie deep within the unconscious and cause repeating patterns of difficult emotions and harmful behaviours. With my clients, I am able to use a number of techniques, which may help them gain knowledge and understanding of their internal and external world, bring some unconscious processes into consciousness and so enable better ways of coping with difficulty.

It can be difficult to know where to start when feeling depressed or anxious. I appreciate that many people become a little anxious at the prospect of an intense atmosphere in a counselling room. Thats not how I work though. My first aim is to help you relax. To see that yes, it is a 'safe and confidential environment for you to talk about anything that you want'. But there's no need for it to be a heavy and intense atmosphere either. I believe we can be practical, pragmatic and make some real changes without sacrificing empathy or compassion. I have over 20 years experience.

Teen Counsellors
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
