Are you faced with difficulties, feeling angry, sad or anxious? I understand the reason you are seeking counselling may not be in relation to any specific issue. For example, you may want a safe and confidential space to explore your feelings or seek to grow as a person. It is my wish that our sessions together can help you to understand yourself better and provide greater insight and awareness of your presenting issues or life experience. My integrative training allows me to be flexible and adaptable with my approach, as I feel that therapy is not a one size fits all endeavour.

Is it difficult for yourself to connect to your emotions and feelings? Sometimes it is complicated to find a link to enable us express freely. Unintentionally, we can create a habit in which we suppress, run away, deny or manipulate our emotions. It is normal to try to push away feelings of discomfort like stress, fear or pain; but there are tools you can learn to help you cope with these emotions in a healthy way. Instead of denying, distracting yourself, manipulating or disconnecting, you can accept, observe, acknowledge and connect deeply with your feelings.

Sometimes we can feel unsettled and lost when times in are uncertain. Sometimes troubled relationships at home or work or from the past can bring low or anxious feelings that may prompt you to step back and ask yourself who you really are and what is the way forward. As an Existential Psychotherapist I can be with you to explore how is it for you to be you right now in the world in which you find yourself. What possibilities are open to you? What are your anxious feelings really telling you? How can you be OK with the feelings and situations that make you uncomfortable, or not knowing what the future holds?

Are you navigating a period where life no longer feels familiar, after loss, separation, relocation, illness, or a major life transition? Perhaps you’ve been holding everything together for a long time, yet quietly feel unmoored, uncertain, or unlike yourself. You don’t have to face this period of change alone. I work with adults facing significant change who want a calm, thoughtful space to make sense of what has shifted. Many of the people I support are capable, reflective individuals who find themselves at an unexpected crossroads — grieving not only what has been lost, but questioning who they are now and how to move forward.

We provide decolonial, intersectional and anti-oppressive talking therapy to racially minoritised clients. We believe in our right to heal away from the white gaze and to have a safer space where we don't have to explain who we are or the different aspects of our culture or identity. We also believe that therapy should be a space where all identities are welcomed and understood including LGBTQ+ identities, gender diversity, neurodivergence and beyond.

I am a qualified counsellor offering online therapy for adults across the UK, with a particular focus on anxiety, identity challenges, medical trauma and life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who appear to be coping outwardly but feel overwhelmed internally. I provide a calm, confidential and relational therapeutic space where you do not need to perform or hold everything together. My approach integrates traditional counselling with awareness of the mind-body connection. Anxiety, trauma and stress often show up physically as well as emotionally, and our work may gently explore both.

I specialise with the LGBT+ community, including their family and friends. I can offer a non-judgemental, gentle, accepting confidential space for you to share your issues and concerns, knowing you will not be rejected or discriminated against. I have lived experience of transgender identities, as my son is transgender. I have witnessed the high mental health conditions, suicidal ideation, including self-harm, and loss faced by LGBT+ individuals that I have counselled, along with the hurdles my son has encountered during his transition. I would like to walk with you along your pathway, and consider myself privileged to do so.

I’m curious about people, the things we feel and the connections we make, on our own, with others, in communities, and with our environments. How we get stuck sometimes, how we learn to survive and how we thrive and grow. I’m interested in the mind-body connection, processes of transformation, wild therapy and exploring queer family building. I have experience with, and am passionate about working with GSRD (Gender sexuality and relationally diverse) folks and the LGBTIQA+ community. I believe in creating therapy spaces for queer and trans people where they are met in a place of understanding and support.

Working exclusively via video call ensuring that clients feel relaxed in familiar surroundings, I work with my clients to help them to find a route through their struggles, helping them to unhook themselves from unhelpful thinking styles and strategies. From the outset my clients understand that counselling requires them to put into practice the things that we identify during our sessions - just like homework. The solutions don't come from our sessions, they come from the work that my clients put in between our sessions.

When you're suffering, mindfulness-based psychotherapy offers an opportunity to slow down, reflect and gain an in-depth understanding of how you came to be the way you are now, what remains unresolved and what needs your attention. You might be experiencing a relationship breakdown, a major life transition, self-sabotage or a lack of joy in your life - whatever your difficulty, together we will explore the patterns you are repeating and how to break the cycle. I have a gentle, down-to-earth approach to therapy and bring empathy, intuition and curiosity into the relationship as well as a bit of humour from time to time.

I commonly work with people who have a chronic illness such as ME/CFS, FND or fibromyalgia. I also work closely with people who are neurodiverse, whether with a diagnosis or not and those within the LGBTQ+ community. People will often come to me at a crisis point in their lives and our work is to make sense of where they are now and how to move forward. The grief of adjusting to living with a chronic illness can be worsened by people around us not understanding what we are going through, further exhausting and isolating us. We look at understanding and upholding boundaries with others and to learning to prioritise your recovery.

My name is Saboor, effective therapy requires a good professional relationship between therapist and client. It can also be a difficult process to start therapy. I, therefore, offer a FREE initial telephone consultation to help us both diagnose if I am the right therapist for you. I am flexible in my treatment, I try to create a space of openness and safety to allow my clients to explore. I work within the humanistic models as well as using techniques from CBT, DBT, PTSD, ADHD, and PHOBIA.

You may feel stuck in your relationships and repeating the same arguments, feeling distant from your partner, or noticing patterns that leave you anxious or unseen. You may want to understand why things feel so hard, communicate more effectively and build connections that feel secure and fulfilling. I can help you unpick what is happening, heal old patterns, and find better ways to connect, repair, and grow whether on your own or together as a couple.

What is lesbian-affirming therapy?
Lesbian-affirming therapy is a type of mental health support that fully affirms and reflects a client's lesbian identity. It is rooted in acceptance and does not attempt to change or question an individual's sexual orientation. In this type of therapy, clients work with a therapist who understands the unique experiences of lesbian women. This support is especially important, as research shows that lesbian individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges compared to heterosexual populations. Lesbian-affirming therapy acknowledges that lesbian individuals may encounter specific stressors—such as coming out challenges, family rejection, workplace discrimination, and minority stress—that require specialised understanding and intervention. Lesbian-affirming therapists often work with clients across all age groups, from adolescents navigating their emerging identity to adults and older individuals addressing life transitions and relationship concerns. Many therapists also provide couples therapy for lesbian partners, helping them navigate relationship dynamics, communication challenges, or external stressors that may impact their relationship. It is important to note that therapists provide talk therapy and counseling services but do not prescribe medication—if medication is needed for conditions like depression or anxiety, they will coordinate care with a psychiatrist or primary care physician who can provide psychiatric medication management alongside therapeutic support.

Why should I see a lesbian therapist?
Some clients prefer to work with lesbian therapists who may bring personal lived experience to the therapeutic relationship. Choosing to work with a lesbian therapist can offer a deeper sense of connection, comfort, and shared understanding. A therapist who identifies as lesbian may require clients to give less background explanation—whether it’s about navigating romantic relationships, feeling unseen in certain spaces, or processing the impact of past relationship challenges. However, a non-lesbian therapist with strong training and a sincere commitment to LGBTQ+ affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who respects your identity and fosters trust, safety, and understanding. However, a non-lesbian therapist with strong training and a sincere commitment to LGBTQ+ affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who respects your identity and fosters trust, safety, and understanding. Additionally, many lesbian-affirming therapists can connect clients to other providers or community-based resources—such as bisexual support groups or LGBTQ+ organisations—that offer additional affirming spaces for connection.

How do I find a lesbian therapist?
The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool for finding lesbian-affirming therapists. You can use search filters to identify therapists who specialise in LGBTQ+ care and work specifically with bisexual clients. You can also filter by clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, accepted insurance, session costs, and languages spoken to find the right fit. Look for profiles where therapists explicitly mention working with lesbian clients, or where they describe their approach as identity-affirming, inclusive, or trauma-informed. Many providers will also list their own identities, which may help you find someone with shared lived experience if that is important to you. You can also look for credentials or continuing education in areas such as LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
