People often come to me when they’re ready to stop carrying everything on their own. Many arrive with quiet overwhelm, self‑doubt, or a sense that they’ve been coping for far too long. They’re usually the ones who hold everything together for others, yet inside they’re longing for a space where they can soften, breathe, and be met without judgement. As an integrative counsellor, I offer a warm, grounded relationship where you can explore what’s happening beneath the surface at your own pace. Together, we gently untangle the experiences and patterns that have shaped your life so far, supporting your personal growth and wellbeing.

My journey began with supporting teenagers in a secondary school, helping them navigate the emotional, social and academic challenges that often arise during adolescence. From there, my work has extended to individuals facing a range of life difficulties, including domestic abuse and social isolation, grief and loss and significant life transitions. I also work with couples who are managing the complexities of modern life, whether it's balancing demanding schedules, working through communication issues, dealing with financial pressures, or navigating the roles we take on within our family structures.

My ideal clients are adults carrying the weight of childhood trauma, complex grief, or attachment wounds — often survivors of abuse, adoptees, or those stuck between grief and acceptance after loss. They come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unable to move forward despite years of trying. Using EMDR, IFS-informed approaches, and IADC Therapy, I help process unresolved trauma, release stuck grief, and address root causes rather than just symptoms. For those wanting faster results, I offer intensive therapy — three hours daily over three days. Together, we work towards lasting change, so you can finally move forward.

Additionally, I have a special interest and experience in working with parents through Home-Start.
People come to therapy carrying stories that may not yet have words. There may be a feeling of overwhelm, of being stuck, of emotional weight, or a tiredness that lives in the body after a long time of holding things together. There may also be a sense that something within is calling out to be seen, understood, or cared for. You don’t need clarity, direction, or the “right” language to begin. We can start exactly where you are, listening together and allowing meaning to unfold in its own time, moving forward at a pace that feels kind and true to you.

Life is not always easy and there may be times when difficulties we are experiencing appear to be over-whelming and we may feel unable to share them with those closest to us. Our counselling relationship will be different to the type you have with friends, family or colleagues. It is secure and confidential, the focus being on your experiences of your problems. I will not give you advice, judge you or tell you what to do, but instead we will work collaboratively to explore & make sense of your thoughts, feelings & behaviours

I have extensive experience and knowledge across the lifespan but primarily work with children, adolescents, parents and families.
Sometimes clients have found gaining a new perspective on their situation is enough to instigate change to their lives and other people prefer to work slowly on specific areas. Together we can discuss what you want to change about your situation and create with some achievable goals. I also provide diagnostic assessments for ADHD and Autism.

My work is dedicated to helping individuals understand how their past experiences and unconscious thoughts powerfully shape their present-day emotions, behaviours, and relationship patterns. We are often influenced by feelings and motivations outside of our immediate awareness, which can lead to recurring difficulties, emotional distress, and a sense of being stuck.

I believe a good personal connection is of vital importance, and hence offer our initial session for free. With so many years in the field I'll almost certainly have experience with whatever you bring, and I'll listen fully and without judgement. Clients often say it's a huge relief to finally share, as the root of so much pain lies in an awful sense of isolation and shame, a feeling of 'What's wrong with me?' We find ourselves nursing a raw wound yet dread being seen as needy or vulnerable. It’s hard reaching out for help, but we consult professionals in all other areas so why not here where it actually matters the most.

It can be difficult to talk about what is worrying you, and you might not even be able to explain all of your feelings. I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and empathetic space for you to explore thoughts, feelings and emotions that make you unique. I believe that you will have your own solutions, so I do not offer advice but will work with you for you to gain an insight into yourself, increasing self-awareness, developing greater inner strength and furthering personal growth and development. What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
