I have worked with many adults and students and people of all ages, including professors, authors, college teachers, novelists, many students, often coming with intractible problems, like
OCD
or shame, and i do know that using attachment informed ‘trauma-based’ therapy really works.
I can help you in an empathic and intuitive way offering resolution for all those difficult emotional problems in life. I have 20 years NHS experience providing psychological therapies, managing also a crisis team and liaison psychiatry service. I offer attachment-informed EMDR integrated with IFS ‘parts’ therapy. This approach creatively interweaves trauma therapy and Internal Family Systems therapy. I trained at Goldsmiths College; and at Kings College London. Attachment informed Emdr combined with IFS is arguably the best therapy available today.

I see clients with a range of difficulties across the lifespan who find themselves in psychological distress and are looking for an understanding and solution to their difficulties. These difficulties may have been lifelong or more recently acquired. They may be showing clinical symptoms such as depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, or
OCD
as a result. They may want longer term therapy to work on themselves more deeply or they may want short term therapy that is focussed on resolving more specific issues.

Mindfulness to help settle your mind, including
OCD
and childhood difficulties.
Great, you have already taken the first steps for you. I am not the expert on you, you are. I am here to support and explore with you what you maybe finding difficult or just not feeling Ok. This may be in your relationships, in your physical body or you are finding both these things are overwhelming sometimes. Together we can wonder, ponder and educate ourselves and understand, why? Then we can make a strategy and build on your already available resilience (you are here remember), and improve this together. This maybe just a few sessions, sometimes just one or a little longer if you need this.

I truly believe that everyone deserves sound mental health, but sometimes life can provide so many challenges that you may end up feeling out of control, anxious or miserable, unsure which way to turn. You are welcome to talk through your experiences and feelings and be listened to in a non-judgemental, open, and empathetic manner. We will work together to develop an understanding of all you have been through and work on processing these experiences within yourself. I offer therapies for anxiety, depression,
OCD
, PTSD, self-esteem or confidence problems, etc. in English and Hungarian.

Given the latest government advice all sessions will be offered online. I have ten years of experience of working in this way and I am happy to give you guidance to set this up. You will need an internet connection (preferably high speed), a headset and microphone. I can also offer telephone sessions but face to face via an online platform is preferable. Psychotherapy is about being listened to and seen in a particular way. There is nowhere else in life that offers a time and space to focus on your 'self' - your body and your mind. My Kent practice is in the village of Bridge near Canterbury and is easy to reach.

Too many people still think they need to "suffer in silence". There's a strongly-held belief, especially among men, that it's not OK to talk about emotions, about problems in relationships, or about those moments when we feel overwhelmed. I've worked with many clients who come to counselling as a last resort, not really believing it can help them. But thousands of people out there have found that talking does make a difference. If you've been wondering whether it could make a difference for you, contact me for an introductory appointment, to see whether counselling is right for you.

If your everyday life and general wellbeing are being affected by how you’re feeling, it is a good time to get some help. My name is Selina Pryor and I work as a school counsellor with young people and adults three days a week. In my private practice I offer individual counselling for young people and adults. Counselling can offer the space and time needed to work through experiences and issues, it is an opportunity to be heard and to feel understood. It can help in building better self-awareness, relationships and overall quality of life. Choosing a counsellor that feels like the right person is really important.

At various points in our lives we may find ourselves needing a little extra support. Sometimes the only way to get a handle on a problem is to share it with a complete stranger in the knowledge that you will not be judged, but supported toward reaching your goals. Whether those goals are to understand yourself better, increase your confidence or self-esteem, move on after divorce or bereavement or to begin to move past traumas and understand what is holding you back in your current life. I am here to help you explore what is happening for you right now.

Due to the cured financial living crisis, I am now offering a more affordable price £30/ hour for online. By creating a non-judgemental place on a weekly basis, you are able to explore your thoughts and feelings at a deeper level. We learn to sit with uncomfortable and unwanted feelings in order to understand where they really stem from. Any feelings that we repress can turn into projections, anxiety, panic attacks, even depression....etc. it is crucial that we explore why we cope the way we do and what holds us back from processing certain feelings. Keeping up with the new self-diagnosis trend I welcome neurodiversity!

We are all unique but our shared humanity means that we all struggle. With over 40yrs experience of working in mental health I have learnt that one of the most helpful interventions for a human in distress is to help them clarify their values and to use this information as leverage to facilitate the inevitable behavioural change that is needed for a life lived well. I have found that combining CBT with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) promotes symptom reduction but also helps patient's to reconnect with what is important in their lives. If you're reading this I'm guessing you're feeling stuck-maybe I can help with that.

I hold a BA(Hons) in integrative relational counselling and a registered member of BACP. I have a number of years of experience working in the charity and private sector, supporting clients with a wide range of emotional issues. At the heart of my counselling practice is the aim to provide a space where you can come to breathe, to be, and find unconditional acceptance, positive reflection and discover alternative narratives and perspectives for yourself. A relationship that enables that to occur, allows for the development of self-awareness, self- acceptance, hope and healing.

Welcome to my profile page. I appreciate that taking those first steps to see a therapist can be scary. We may have fears of being judged, concerns that it might not work out, and with so many therapists out there how do we pick the right one?! These are all perfectly normal thoughts and feelings to have. I will provide a non judgmental, safe space to help you explore the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, to help you reach your goals. I have over 15 years experience working in mental health and substance misuse services and am fully accredited with the BABCP.

Psychoanalytical Psychoanalysis and Integrative Counselling: "The speed and accuracy by which Chris was able to work out our personalities and provide genuinely useful insight was, quite frankly, incredible. This insight, hard as it was to digest, proved to be so profound to me that I was finally able to unpick what had being going on in my relationship. His ability to sum up the relationship in one stark metaphor was a watershed moment for me. Through his insight and continued support I have managed to start to discover myself again and to regain my confidence which had been systematically dismantled." Mr. M, 2019, Canterbury.

Hello, my name is Nettie. I am a qualified psycho-therapeutic counsellor with over 8 years experience. Do you feel that past events are affecting how you cope with life today? Do you struggle with any of these: low mood; depression; anxiety; panic attacks; stress; low self-esteem; lack of self-confidence; loss, not feeling validated, anger-related issues and the effects of trauma, and at times it feels so overwhelming that you find it's too much and you're struggling to cope? Do you feel you're at a crossroads in your life and you're not sure in which direction to go? You want to feel better but aren't quite sure how to get there.

How long does OCD treatment take?
OCD is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, and sertraline, among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
