I have extensive experience of supporting people with issues including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), suicidal ideation, self-harm, bereavement, relationship difficulties, social anxiety, identity and self-esteem.
I specialise in art therapy. Many people find the process of making art allows them to explore their inner world, develop greater self-awareness, express thoughts and feelings, and better cope with stress. No art experience or skill is required and art is only part of the broader support I offer. I offer both face to face and online sessions.

I have particular interests in bereavement, having trained with Cruse Bereavement Support, suicide-ideation, through many years of working with- and training listening volunteers for the Samaritans - and helping people to become empowered, gain confidence, self-esteem and self-worth.
Couples and individuals are welcome. Perhaps you lack self-esteem, self-worth or have never felt good enough. Does life have little meaning and you don’t understand why? Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, not knowing who you really are. We will work together, in a safe and confidential space to explore what has made you, you, and how things might have to change to get you to where you want to be. This can be on a practical, emotional or spiritual level - or any combination. Together, let’s remove the fear and help you move forward to reach your potential and a sense of finally being ‘good enough'. The ‘true you’. Are you ready?

Hi my name is Sharon and I fully understand how the thought of seeing a stranger to discuss personal issues can be scary, but as an empathetic, calm, caring person I try to ensure that you feel as relaxed as you possibly can. As well as having many 'tools' within my 'toolbox' to help people move forward in life, I also have a very good listening ear. I ensure to give people a safe environment where they can get any issues off their chest, knowing that what is said is confidential. I offer a free 20 minute initial chat so as we can get to know each other a little to see if we are a good match.

Life is a forest—ever-changing, untamed. Some paths are clear, others tangled, but every turn shapes you. Even when we feel lost, the roots still hold, the light still finds its way, and every step leads us somewhere beautiful where the deepest roots learn to grow. Walk ahead, where the paths unfold, and the peace is found.

I understand that everyone's story is different, and it's okay to need some help telling it. I am an MA-trained Psychotherapist, specialising in supporting children and adolescents to thrive. I know starting therapy can feel scary, so making sure you feel safe and comfortable is my biggest priority. I am particularly experienced and confident working with neurodivergent young people, who may have been consistently failed by the system and sadly experienced trauma along the way. I can offer a warm listening ear, gentle yet effective psychotherapy interventions, as well as a big dose of playfulness along the way!

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected? You’re not alone. Whether you’re struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, or BPD, or other difficulties you might find it hard to express what’s really going on. Maybe traditional talking therapy feels intimidating, or words just don’t feel enough. You want to feel heard, understood, and supported in a way that truly works for you—without pressure or judgment. My goal is to help you process emotions, build resilience, and find clarity using methods that feel safe and comfortable for you. Therapy should adapt to you, not the other way around.

Suicidal Ideation Counsellors

How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?

Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioural therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?

Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioural and dialectical behaviour therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?

The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?

As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
