My expertise lies in parent-child relationships, anxiety in early childhood and adolescence, ASD and trauma.
Parents hold valuable insights into their children's needs. I guide parents to observe, interpret, and support their child's therapy journey. By integrating the parent's and child's past experiences with present moments, we create a safe space for healing and growth.

I specialise in providing parent and family support.
I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. It is therefore essential for me to maintain a compassionate and non-judgemental style in order to create a space where families feel safe. I work integratively and so I draw upon a range of approaches and theories, including CFT, ACT, CBT, Narrative and Systemic approaches

I offer online parenting sessions on a Tuesday or Sunday morning, or on a Thursday evening.
ENA Behaviour Consultancy provides tailored, early intervention behaviour support for families of young people aged 4-11. We support caregivers by supporting them to gain confidence and understanding around emerging behaviours by collaboratively working along side them to support their child. We provide short term (6-8 sessions) support to families and introduce a behaviour support plan to mitigate risk, teach new skills and ultimately reduce behaviours. We introduce strategies proactively, meaning that we look at WHY behaviours are happening and replace them with alternatives to ensure that the young person's needs are being met.

Some have had children and lost some of their identity since gaining the title of ' parent.
With knowledge of integrating different modalities my speciality is tailoring therapy to each client. Applying a humanistic approach to build the therapeutic relationship, then integrating CBT, psychoeducation and creative outlets to ensure that the sessions suit each clients needs. Adapting these methods to a fixed term or long term session plan.

As a parent and partner myself, I am very down to earth, empathic and patient, with lots of compassion and understanding for all the struggles that people go through.
Sometimes it is hard to know what to do or who to turn to if you are feeling overwhelmed or unhappy.. Or if one of your loved ones is finding life rather hard to cope with. If you are looking for some effective and compassionate help, for someone to listen and try to understand your difficulties, maybe help you find some relief and strategies, then why not reach out and let's talk it through together. I may be able to help you too if things with your partner are wobbly and you are struggling to get on as well as you used to; perhaps you are arguing more and you seem to have lost the magic of when you first met? Don't despair…

Our support sessions can be used to learn more about neurodivergence, to support adjustment to diagnosis, to explore tricky parenting dilemmas, or to think about what might help at school or work.
Hello! I'm Dr Lisa Weston, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist leading a small team of experienced clinicians. We offer Autism, ADHD, and Learning Disability diagnostic assessments and support sessions for children, young people and adults, in Cambridgeshire and beyond. We are skilled in assessing features of neurodivergence which are often missed, including in girls and women or those who may mask their differences. Having previously worked in an NHS diagnostic assessment service, I recognise how important it is for people to have a positive experience of their assessment and post diagnostic support.

Any adverse experience will manifest itself both physically and emotionally. It can be overwhelming when anxiety, low-self esteem, shame, self-sabotaging or anger are present in daily life. Even in the most unexpected situations, they can manifest in real physical reactions in the body. Body Psychotherapy also known as Somatic Psychotherapy, is a specialised approach that combines talking with body awareness, mindfulness and works gently with the Autonomic Nervous System. This process can help to break patterns by understanding and integrating the roots of what troubles you, leading up to positive effects on your daily experiences.

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
