I offer a space which is safe and non-judgemental where we can explore together what is happening with you and in your life that has left you feeling anxious, depressed, sad, low in self-esteem, empty or distressed and not knowing why. Through working together we will try to understand how these feelings are manifesting in your life - be it through addiction, social anxiety, eating disorders, discomfort in your body image, destructive relationships. I am a passionate practitioner of EMDR (Eye movement desensitization reprocessing), a cutting-edge and clinically proven psychotherapeutic technique for treatment of PTSD.

My view on therapy is simple: “Through relationships, we heal.” As a BACP-accredited couples psychotherapist and Certified Imago Relational Clinical Therapist, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and couples for 20 years, helping them navigate relational challenges and rediscover deeper connection. I help you engage in a journey of mutual growth, learning how to move beyond conflict and disconnection to cultivate a more intimate, passionate relationship. The power struggle is a sign of growth trying to happen. With hope, intention, and commitment, healing is possible.

I am an analytical psychologist, psychotherapist, and supervisor based in Cambridge. While I work with a wide variety of people who have a range of issues and concerns, each person who comes to see me is special and each problem or concern they have is unique to them. Some of the concerns and issues that bring people to contact me are deep trauma and feelings of desperation, while others find themselves faced with an unexpected situation or difficult decision or want to explore and develop a deeper understanding of their life experience.

These days we lose real connections: people we can trust and rely on and the connection with our own body and mind. I help adults connect. Connect with their trauma, their pain, their loss, their feelings, no matter how pleasant or tough they are. I support them to look for their inner voice, for their instinct that is being pushed down by the information load. I provide a safe space where they can be honest, practice self-compassion and gain confidence.

While we all deserve to have a life that we feel secure in and a future that we can look forward to, in reality there are times when this simply isn't the case. It might be that we look for help with overwhelming feelings of anxiety and depression, or a little nagging voice at the back of the mind that says that now is the right time to talk to someone.  Or perhaps something quite clear and traumatic has happened. Working together, therapy can become a way of finding the words to make sense of confusing experiences.

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in repeating patterns—whether in relationships, work, or their inner lives. You may be struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, eating disorders, or a sense of losing direction during a life transition. Often, you know something needs to change but feel unsure how to move forward. You want greater understanding, relief from distress, and a clearer, more balanced way ahead.

Divorce Counsellors
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
