Although I specialise in helping people with anxiety or depression , I can also help people to find a sense of purpose, to improve their sense of self-worth, or encourage people to find their sense of identity.
**** I now have some availability for appointments in the mornings **** It is often said we live in an age of anxiety. Anxiety and depression are common, and sometimes they can seem overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be this way. Talking to a psychotherapist over a course of sessions can really help, with anxiety, depression , or a number of other emotional problems.

I am an accredited BACP counsellor and specialised in anxiety and depression . I have a special interest in multiculturalism and Christian counselling. Sometimes we have difficult relationship with our friends and families; or we are at a crossroad in our lives struggling to make good decisions; or we are finding it hard to deal with the conflicts between how we are brought up and where we are now. Whatever the reason, people come to counselling to be listened to, find practical ways to improve their lives, and seek understanding of where they are at and what they want for their lives. I will be your counsellor to facilitate that.

I work with adults using a holistic approach who are feeling stuck. Many people since COVID are struggling with depression , stress, anxiety, and burnout. Some people are turning to alcohol, drugs or other addictive behaviours to cope. Its ok to find life hard. I specialise in working with people who are worrying they aren’t managing their mental health, who may have experienced trauma, and may be self-medicating. I offer an entirely non-judgemental, confidential, compassionate and a safe space to talk about some of these things and help you to identify what changes you would like to make. I also specialise in working with ADHD.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression counsellors in Cambridge. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
