Do you feel overwhelmed and exhausted, but tell others you are ‘fine’? We all have coping mechanisms and can hide our pain. Please know that you, your difficulties and your feelings are important and valid. It is a strength to ask for help and I offer a reassuring, calm and accepting space where you can be you. You can be completely honest about how you feel. I bring compassion and empathy for whatever you are going through, the life changes and challenges you may be facing. Counselling can help you gain insight, clarity, and perspective, make changes and move forwards. Being properly heard and understood really can help.

I specialise in supporting adults and young people with eating disorders (both inpatient and outpatient wards), anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, BPD, and dementia .
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected? You’re not alone. Whether you’re struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, or BPD, or other difficulties you might find it hard to express what’s really going on. Maybe traditional talking therapy feels intimidating, or words just don’t feel enough. Want to feel heard, understood, and supported in a way that truly works for you—without pressure or judgment? My goal is to help you process emotions, build resilience, and find clarity using methods that feel safe and comfortable for you. Therapy should adapt to you, not the other way around.

Are you noticing brain fog, memory lapses, trouble focusing, or feeling mentally slower?
As a brain health consultant, I work with you 1:1 or in a small group beginning with a Brain Health Assessment. We identify ways to reduce any key brain-drainers like poor sleep, and introduce practical, feasible brain-boosters, like cognitive training. By shifting the balance to a brain-healthy lifestyle, your brain, like a muscle, can become stronger.

Carrying your struggles alone can feel isolating — especially when living with anxiety, low self-worth, or the sense of never being ‘good enough.’ Taking the step to share these experiences can be deeply empowering. I offer a space of unconditional acceptance and a considered quality of attention, where you can bring every part of your experience without judgment. Together, we can make sense of what you’re going through so you feel seen, supported, and more confident in yourself. From there, we can work towards greater clarity, calm, and connection.

Seeking support can be a challenging step to take. I am here to help. As a chartered clinical psychologist registered with the HCPC, I am trained to provide individuals, couples, and groups with evidence-based psychological treatments for a range of difficulties that can affect general well-being and quality of life. You may struggle with low mood and anxiety, and may be affected by issues such as relationship problems, low self-esteem, loss and bereavement, trauma, sexual problems, or substance misuse. It is also common to experience a number of issues at once, making problems seem insurmountable.

An ideal client would be someone with an understanding of how counselling can be used effectively, that said - many discussions with my clients have given me new insights about this and often through these discussions, the client and I can arrive on the same page. Whilst I have a background in trauma training, I do not expect all clients to come with trauma as their reasons for seeking counselling. I am here for you, whatever it is you wish to discuss. My work with clients is open ended, as such - needs and goals can change over time, reviewing our work periodically will help address any change in your desired outcome(s).

Welcome to my profile! I strongly believe that mental health is just as important as physical health and should be treated as so. I am here to support you through the obstacles that you may be facing. Counselling has helped me through my own issues with binge eating disorder, anxiety, depression, and ASD. I now enjoy my role as an accredited counsellor helping others through their own issues. I am able to work with individuals aged 16+ in Liverpool and across the UK. In the first session we will begin to explore your issues and how you want to approach them in further sessions.

Dementia Counsellors
Can dementia patients benefit from counselling?
Dementia patients can often benefit significantly from counselling. While neurologists typically treat dementia itself, counsellors provide crucial emotional support for patients and their families. Therapists specializing in dementia can help clients navigate aging, end-of-life issues, social isolation, sleep challenges, and grief. They can also assist clients in adapting to the disease by addressing caregiving concerns and supporting family members. Counsellors will often also collaborate with a patient's neurologist or other medical providers to manage dementia symptoms and medication needs.

How can you tell if someone has dementia or Alzheimer's?
To determine if someone has dementia or Alzheimer's disease, there are several signs and diagnostic methods that medical professionals use. Early signs of dementia often include memory loss, difficulty with problem-solving, and challenges in completing familiar tasks. Diagnosing dementia or Alzheimer's requires a comprehensive approach, as there is no single definitive test, and initial diagnosis can sometimes be difficult as symptoms tend to worsen progressively over time. To make a diagnosis, medical professionals typically use a combination of methods, including standardized questionnaires and cognitive tests to assess memory, attention, and problem-solving skills, psychiatric evaluations to understand mental health status, brain scans to look for physical changes in the brain, as well as other medical tests to rule out other conditions.

What are the first-line treatment options for Alzheimer’s disease?
There is no cure for Alzheimer's disease, but catching the disease in its early-to-moderate phases can be beneficial in order to initiate first-line treatments to help manage symptoms. Medications such as galantamine, rivastigmine, and donepezil are examples of cholinesterase inhibitors that are commonly prescribed for Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, working with a therapist or social worker can also often help patients with the disease address common behavioural and lifestyle concerns, such as anxiety, depression, irritability, sleep problems, social support, and housing changes.

When to seek treatment for Alzheimer’s?
It’s best to seek treatment at the first signs of Alzheimer's. Early warning signs of Alzheimer’s include memory problems, such as forgetting appointments or directions, as well as trouble concentrating, paying attention, retrieving words, and carrying out daily household tasks. An early diagnosis can help people slow the progression of the disease with medication and plan for the future in terms of housing, social/caregiving support, and finances.
