Sessions tend to last longer than the traditional hour (or in some cases 50 minutes) as I prefer to work without the time constraint and to give value for money.

I work with adults using a holistic approach who are feeling stuck. Many people since COVID are struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, and burnout. Some people are turning to alcohol, drugs or other addictive behaviours to cope. Its ok to find life hard. I specialise in working with people who are worrying they aren’t managing their mental health, who may have experienced trauma, and may be self-medicating. I offer an entirely non-judgemental, confidential, compassionate and a safe space to talk about some of these things and help you to identify what changes you would like to make. I also specialise in working with ADHD.

I understand this must be a difficult time and seeking support is not easy, sometimes we need things to change and don't know where to begin , having experienced this myself I can empathize with this dilemma. I was fortunate to find a counsellor with whom I formed a trusting relationship which enabled me to find purpose and direction, overtime I gained a clearer understanding of self and others around me. This allowed me to grow and flourish in self -acceptance giving me the empowerment to achieve and move forward with my life.

It's a 'given' that life is complex. Finding a solution to difficulties can be so challenging, perhaps seemingly 'impossible'. However, nothing is impossible .... the very word itself tells us - "I'm-possible!"

My clients come from different backgrounds and face a wide variety of issues. Some are struggling in transitioning at different stages of life, have relationship/family problems, or face obstacles in their lives and find it hard to cope emotionally with their surroundings. Others might be parents struggling with connecting to their children, facing difficult child behavior or individuals that experienced trauma. Our sessions would focus on discovering the root causes of the problems and understanding oneself. Then we would set out a plan on how to best address the situation to provide meaning and fulfillment to their lives.

What type of mental health professional is right for me?
Some of the most common types of mental health providers in Cambridge are psychologists, licensed counsellors, therapists, and psychotherapists, all of whom diagnose mental health conditions and provide individualised treatment.

Services offered, education, and credentials vary by type of mental health professional. Each professional in Cambridge then may specialise in certain areas, such as depression, marriage counselling, or anxiety. Although many mental health providers are not licensed to prescribe medication, they may coordinate with a provider who can.

Both in-person and online therapy sessions are available from most psychologists.
How to find a specialist?
You can refine your search using the filters on this page. There are several categories you can filter by to find mental health professionals with the experience you are looking for. You may want to filter for CBT Psychologists in Cambridge, or Child Psychologists in Cambridge.

Many find it useful to use filters to view only psychologists that have experience working with certain issues, like Cambridge psychologists specialising in EMDR.

What method of therapy is right for me?
When it comes to treatment methods, there's no 'right way.’ Each method of therapy can be beneficial for a variety of issues. Psychologists in Cambridge specialise in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, EMDR, and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), among others. Learn what to expect from different types of therapy and how they work.

Can I afford counselling?
Yes. Most counsellors offer reasonable rates or will work on a sliding scale basis. Many accept health insurance. Feel free to discuss this when you contact the counsellor.
