Thank you for visiting my profile, I know that it can be quite daunting to look for support particularly when you're feeling vulnerable and with so many practitioners to choose from. Sometimes life can be tough, we can get confused, low or stressed and can't seem to find our way, it's at these times that counselling can be useful and help us understand our emotions and help us get back in control.

With over 20 years of experience as a counsellor/psychothrapist, my approach is rooted in deep presence, genuine empathy, and respect for each person’s unique path. I work from a transpersonal perspective, recognising that healing and self-discovery often touch something greater than our day to day thoughts and emotions. It maybe a sense of purpose, a longing for wholeness, or a deeper inner knowing. Whatever it is for you, i offer a calm and compassionate space in which it can safely unfold. In our sessions there will space to speak freely & be heard deeply. Whether you are navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions or otherness.

I’m a trauma-informed integrative therapist working with individuals & couples - within the therapeutic relationship characterised by honesty, empathy & compassion The connections I build with clients are essential to create a space where you feel you can openly discuss your concerns. Building trust can take time, and that’s perfectly okay. You determine the pace and the goals we work towards. Ultimately, therapy is a chance to take time to invest in yourself - to explore & reflect on your experiences and then identify the changes you wish to work towards.

Because you're here, I imagine that things are feeling difficult. Something specific may be on your mind or it might be something more general; you may be overwhelmed with anxious thoughts, depression or a sense that something just isn't quite right. Perhaps you're struggling with relationships, or trying to deal with a loss or a trauma in your life. Patterns may keep repeating and you don't know how to change them. At times, we all need extra support; there are lots of reasons why people come in to counselling. I work in an Integrative way, to help you to unpick complex feelings you may have about yourself and the way you live now.

Sessions are available in a comfortable counselling room in Ruislip as well as online. Sometimes talking feels difficult, so as well as talking, we can work in creative ways to explore what’s happening, including drawing, problem-solving, whiteboard work and sand tray therapy. What if the ways you’ve learned to cope are now getting in the way of the life you want to live? Hi I’m Sapna, a creative psychotherapist. I help those who’ve heard the whisper that something inside doesn’t quite feel right. This can show up in many ways, putting yourself aside, second-guessing yourself, adapting to what others need, or losing touch with yourself. Therapy offers a space to slow down, become curious and begin to trust your own inner voice.

At times we can feel overwhelmed by what is happening in our lives, and within our relationships, a situation has become overtime intolerable, or we may want to make some changes. Choosing to start counselling is a recognition that someone may be able to help, instead of struggling to deal with the issues alone. There may have been a recent crisis, however sometimes it can be difficult to identify the reasons why we feel unhappy, and at these times talking to a counsellor in confidence can be beneficial and enlightening.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, caught in patterns you don’t fully understand, or unsure why certain emotions keep returning, no matter how gently you try to move them aside. Maybe you react in ways that don’t feel like “you,” or you’re finding it harder to stay calm, motivated, or connected. Many people I support describe anxiety, stress, anger, low motivation, or feeling lost. What they long for is clarity, relief, and real, lasting change to feel grounded, connected, and more like themselves again.

Whatever issues you are facing right now, I offer a safe, confidential and judgement-free space in which we can reflect on them and, by better understanding your conflicts and experiences, grow in self-awareness and autonomy. I believe in the importance of building a trusting relationship with my clients, so that we can work together toward constructing meaningful relationships. Talking freely about whatever comes to mind is the main way to explore what is beyond our logical, rational mind.

Self Esteem Counsellors
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
