I am a registered bilingual psychotherapist experienced in helping individuals and couples move beyond feeling stuck - whether that’s an anxiety that follows you into the quiet moments, recurring arguments or conflict, or grief after a loss. My approach is integrative psychodynamic: sensitively attuned to the deeper emotional patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves and others. I pair this with a safe, supportive environment to explore neuroplasticity and embrace neurodiversity, allowing for lasting, embodied change. I work online UK wide and in-person North London, Stanmore, Hendon and Hertfordshire Bushey.

Psychotherapy can be helpful when difficult, painful or traumatic experiences arise and where your own efforts to resolve them just don't seem to work. Changing how we are can feel difficult, however seeing a qualified therapist can support this process as it provides the time and space needed to explore any difficulties. We cannot change our past; what has happened has happened but what we can do is change our relationship to what has happened so that our past no longer has power in the present. Please see my website for further information.

My young clients suffer with depression, anxiety & PTSD, they tend to have a sense of not belonging. Through the build up of the therapeutic relationship, they will need empathic understanding from me & perhaps come CBT coping strategies depending on their presenting issues & most importantly, a sense of feeling heard. The goal is to work together to alleviate their suffering & aim towards making some sort of change in their lives to move past their issues.

Being human can be messy. Life asks a lot of us. We navigate pressure, change, responsibility, and uncertainty about our bodies, relationships, and futures. It can be overwhelming, anxiety producing, and at times, isolating. Therapy is a place to pause and make sense of things together.

When life feels harder than it looks Putting on a front just to keep going can be deeply exhausting. Life can take its toll, and the effort of managing strong emotions while navigating day-to-day life can leave you feeling lost, emotionally drained, or disconnected from others - and even from yourself. Anxiety, intense emotions, or ongoing stress can make it harder to feel close in relationships, affecting your confidence and sometimes leaving you feeling misunderstood. You may also notice that things which once brought you joy no longer feel the same, and everyday life can begin to feel more difficult to manage. It’s not easy.

As a Clinical Psychologist with 20+ years’ experience, I work with adults, couples, and young people navigating complex emotional patterns, trauma, anxiety, or relationship difficulties. They often come to my practice feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or finding that standard, surface-level approaches haven't fully resolved deeper, more long-standing pain. I offer a dedicated, integrative space. By blending CBT with Compassion-Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help clients safely explore the different parts of themselves, heal core wounds, and move forward with clarity and resilience.

With so many counselling profiles to go through it can feel difficult to know which counsellor will be able to help you with your struggles. Will a male counsellor best serve me? Would there be benefits to seeing a female counsellor? What does a Psychodynamic Counsellor offer over a CBT Counsellor? If you are seeking counselling and struggling with these questions, please email me and I will be happy to offer a free 15-minute Zoom session to share some of my experience with you and help you find the right counsellor, whether that be myself or another professional.

Counselling is a confidential, safe space where the client is encouraged to think and talk about their inner most feelings without feeling judged. My role as your counsellor would be to help you manage these feelings and explore them to a much deeper level whilst giving you the autonomy to help you find your own personal solutions. An initial meeting/conversation will give us both an opportunity to see if we feel comfortable working together. Counselling can sometimes be a long and painful process, but with my help and experience I hope to help you process your thoughts and feelings in a safe space that is just for you.

You may feel capable and organised in many areas of life, yet food can feel like the one place things quietly unravel. You might start the day with good intentions, only to find that by evening you're eating in a way that doesn't match what you truly want. Afterwards comes frustration, guilt, or the familiar promise to "start again tomorrow." Struggles with food rarely come down to willpower. For many people — particularly those with ADHD, or those who've always felt wired a little differently — eating becomes entangled with dopamine, emotional regulation, and the exhaustion of masking.

Were you an optimistic teen who looked forward to a promising future? Did you hope to make a difference? To be in a loving and harmonious marriage? To raise an emotionally healthy family? The reality of your thirties and forties can feel like a let-down: coping with a less than meaningful work routine, disharmony in your relationships with your spouse/kids; coming face to face with your own challenges from childhood or simple boredom with the daily drudge. I believe our outer world is a reflection of what's going on inside of us. The ‘stuff’ of life doesn’t dictate whether life is enjoyable and meaningful… our response to it does.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are members of the main professional associations, mainly the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Most Psychologists in the directory are accredited members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and/or are registered in the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP).

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given that professional memberships are not a statutory requirement for psychotherapists and counsellors in the UK, certain qualified professionals or organisations may choose not to maintain such memberships despite possessing the necessary qualifications. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and experience that enable them to do so in the UK. Psychologists have earned a degree in psychology and many are members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and have completed a postgraduate qualification in a specialism. Counsellors and Psychotherapists are not required to have a psychology degree, but to belong to a professional organisation such as the BACP or UKCP, they are required to have completed a training course as well as clinical and supervision hours.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the UK could be between £30 - £60 when seeing a counsellor and £60 - £150 and up when seeing a clinical psychologist. If you have private insurance, your plan may cover some if not all of your sessions. You should contact your insurance provider to determine if they provide coverage for therapy sessions and to determine what, if any, requirements they might have in order for your sessions to be covered, such as a referral from your GP or medical specialist.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. The NHS Talking therapies programme offers free of charge counselling for common mental health problems like anxiety and depression. The service is available to anyone registered with a GP, though you do not necessarily need to be referred by your GP and can refer yourself directly to a Talking therapies service. The service will provide different solutions, including group and individual therapy, for a limited number of sessions which are generally up to six.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Therapists who are part of a professional organisation such as the BACP, the UKCP, or BPS are bound by an ethical framework that requires them to uphold a confidentiality agreement. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there has been participation in a criminal act or act of terror, or if there is potential or known harm to the client or others, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
