I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on a range of evidence-based models including CBT, CFT, ACT, systemic approaches, and narrative therapy.
Let’s be real — life is hard and rarely straightforward, and our needs and challenges can be even more complex. Some people may not know where to begin, while for others, the cause feels clear. Wherever you find yourself, I’m here to help. As a Clinical Psychologist, I’ve gained extensive experience working across NHS, community, and specialist services. These experiences have equipped me to support a wide range of individuals — from those wanting to build confidence in a specific area of life, to those navigating more complex and enduring mental health difficulties.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. Reaching out is a brave first step toward change. You may be here because of a difficult past. Perhaps your childhood left you feeling hurt, or you’ve always felt like you don’t quite fit in. Maybe you find yourself overcompensating in social situations, questioning your worth, or wondering what’s “wrong” with you. Do you often feel anxious, struggle to relax around others, or experience emotions like anger, jealousy, or sadness without fully understanding why?

I work with you in partnership. Always, we will be in contact with the present. Always, I will meet you as another human being in this shared space together. We will look at what is coming up for you in the here and now, in your emotions and body, and how this impacts you and your relationships. For me, therapy is not about fixing. It’s about harnessing enough self-awareness that we are able to liberate ourselves from thoughts and feelings that feel beyond our conscious choice. It is about arming ourselves with self-knowledge and the courage to move towards change and let go of that which is not in our control.

I deliver high-quality treatments, including CBT (I'm BABCP accredited), ACT for performance optimisation (e.g., thriving in competitive sports), EMDR, and Mindfulness-Based Therapies.
I am a deputy lead clinical psychologist in an NHS secondary care team, and I currently work part-time in private practice. Each day, I help people manage stressful life events and confront various psychological issues, such as anxiety, PTSD, low mood, loneliness, self-esteem, and coping with pressure. I can help you develop a deep understanding of your psychological problems and convert insight into change. I believe that our thoughts influence our feelings, which in turn affect our actions. Sometimes, we must reflect on why we keep falling into the same patterns to move forward in life. Seeking help for emotional problems is wise.

They say the Body Keeps the Score... And something keeps bringing you back to the same stuck places — the same anxious patterns, the same relationship dynamics, the same pain or signals from your body that you tend to ignore. Perhaps you've tried pushing through. Maybe you've tried talking about it. And talking helps. But your body has been waiting patiently for its turn. Here, we listen to both. I'm Beth, a clinical psychologist and therapeutic yoga teacher integrating modern psychology with somatic processing. I'm here to support your journey towards real, lasting change. Together, we regulate, rewire, and reconnect with joy.

Being human is uniquely challenging. Unexpected (& even expected!) life events, our individual experiences and changes in our personal lives can impact us more than we know. We become quite skilled at developing both helpful and not-so-helpful coping strategies. These work for some time. Until they don't. That's when we may need help to understand and make sense of what we've been dealing with. That's where I come in! We'll work together to understand your unique situation and what you want to change. The hope is that together, we'll help you get back on track and feel like a better version of yourself.

I specialise & have had training in Systemic approaches, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
So often the psychological distress we experience is an understandable reaction to the things we have gone through and the situations we find ourselves in. Therapy can help us make sense of what is happening and develop new ways of seeing or coping with things. What brings people to therapy can be vastly different. Maybe you’ve lost enjoyment in your life or work & are feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you’ve noticed patterns that keep showing up in your life & you want to get to the bottom of why you do what you do. Or maybe you’ve experienced some painful things & feel that they’re impacting your life & you want that to be different.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
