Since then, I have also trained as a Relationship Counsellor to support couples and clients with relationship difficulties, a Supervisor, and EMDR Therapist to support clients with trauma-related symptoms.
I offer a warm, steady space for adults who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burnt out, or weighed down by low mood. These feelings often make sense in the context of current stress, but they can also be rooted in earlier experiences. When early life was unpredictable or unsafe, it can leave lasting impressions that show up in adulthood as anxiety, people‑pleasing, self‑criticism, difficulty setting boundaries, or a sense of being “too much” or “not enough”. These early or later experiences can also lead to PTSD‑related symptoms such as feeling on edge, easily triggered, or struggling with intrusive memories.

I have over twenty years experience supporting individuals and couples through periods of emotional difficulty and personal challenges.
I work psychodynamically, paying close attention to unconscious processes, early relationships, and the ways past experiences continue to shape emotional life in the present. This approach can be particularly helpful for longstanding or complex difficulties, including trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, struggles linked to identity, success and visibility.

Life can be hard at times. You might be feeling overwhelmed. Or you might have lost your sense of connection and purpose in life. I offer a supportive relationship where you can talk through your challenges. It could be a difficult life situation, or how you feel day to day. Counselling is a space for you, and we can explore what you need together. I’m a humanistic counsellor. My approach is collaborative. You would decide what to explore, I’d be alongside to help you make sense of your challenges. I work with openness and empathy, and hope to ease any anxieties about starting counselling.

The goal is to help you grow from your struggles, understand yourself, your past and your relationships better and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
I work in an integrative way (multi-model therapy), to build a collaborative, personalised therapeutic experience for each individual client. A karmic cycle is a repetitious pattern of events, emotions or realisations that occur in your life. Until that lesson is mastered, we will continue to repeat the cycle. Are you ready to break the cycle?

I support individuals, couples, siblings, family members, colleagues and friends, not because I specialise only in “ relationships,” but because everything we live is relational.
How you feel about yourself shapes how you move through work, family life, friendships, and intimacy. How you see yourself is often influenced by the way you navigated childhood, adolescence, and the twists and turns that followed. So this is where we begin: You come as you are, and together we work towards releasing what behaviours no longer serve you.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
