If anxiety and depression are getting in the way of you living your life the way you want to, we can work together to change that. We can often feel low when life isn’t going as planned or anxious and overwhelmed when we are struggling to cope. This is why I created ‘The Calm Clinic with Libby Thompson’, to provide people with a safe, comfortable space to be open about their stresses and worries, feel heard and validated whilst discussing strategies and techniques that may be helpful. Therapy is a partnership, a joint journey, and my aim is to provide you with the individual support you need to make positive changes.

Psychologist, HCPC - Couns. Psych.

I found my way to being a Psychologist because I am deeply curious about people and what makes us ‘tick’ and I struggle to see suffering without doing something to help. Until 2022, I worked for the NHS with people who have experienced trauma and who have complex emotional needs. I was also a DBT Therapist in the NHS Trust’s small DBT Service. I work with adults, aged 18 and over, and whether you're struggling with emotion regulation difficulties, interpersonal challenges, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, grief and trauma or with difficulty adjusting to life changes and challenges, psychological therapy can help.

Hi - I’m Shannon, an Integrative Therapist and Therapeutic Supervisor with a Master’s degree. I’m extensively trained in multiple counselling approaches, so we can tailor therapy to you as an individual — because one size doesn’t fit all. Working with children, young people, and families was my original specialism. However, I have been supporting adults and couples with a wide range of life challenges for many years now.

Psychotherapist, MSc, MUKCP

Welcome. My name is Terina. It is often hard to make a first step toward getting the support you might need and you may wonder how counselling/therapy can help. I think of it as a bit like a 'walk through a forest' - one we are agreeing to go on together. We don't yet know what the experience will be like, or quite where it will take us, as it is a new experience for both of us. The important thing is, we do this walk together. This is an important relationship and what we CAN know, is that I will offer you consistency, support, empathy and honesty and the space to explore anything that matters to you, without judgement.

Caring for someone can be meaningful, but it can also carry a quiet weight that others may not always see. Perhaps you’ve become the one everyone relies on, holding things together while feeling stretched, tired or alone with it. At Puradesa Therapy I offer a calm space for carers to pause and talk things through. Together we explore family dynamics, pressure, guilt and the emotional strain that caring can bring. My approach is tailored to you, helping you find steadier ways to cope while protecting your own wellbeing alongside your caring role. If this feels familiar, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

Life can feel overwhelming, especially when anxiety, overthinking or emotional exhaustion start to take over. You may be coping on the outside while feeling stuck or disconnected inside. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t what happened, but carrying it alone for too long. Many people come to therapy feeling tired of being strong, confused by their emotions, or disconnected from themselves. I offer a quiet, thoughtful space to slow down and gently explore what’s beneath the surface—without pressure, labels or judgement...

Are you feeling alone, unheard or misunderstood? Maybe you feel anxious, angry, or hurt. Do you feel as though no one is there for you or listens to how you are feeling? Maybe you have tried to speak to friends and family but they either just don't get it or tell you what you should or shouldn't be doing and the conversation shifts to their problems. When was the last time someone really sat with you and gave you their undivided attention to talk about how YOU are feeling? What would it feel like to truly be heard and understood? To be able to express how you feel without the worry of being judged or fear of upsetting someone?

I believe I have had an unusual but a very fortunate life. My parents worked abroad and I grew up in India and Australia before being sent to boarding school at age 7. This experience taught me a lot about life, being independent and resilient. Despite my struggles with dyslexia and ADHD, I survived, and became a PE teacher, working in state and independent secondary schools before moving into Special Education. In all these positions I also held senior pastoral roles. My background has shown me the importance of building trust, encouraging open honest, communication, and creating, a safe, non-judgemental environment for clients.

Peace of mind and contentment are possible, no matter what circumstances life has thrown at you. It is not always about changing what is happening - that can often be beyond our control. But it is possible to change our relationship with the events and people in our lives.

I am a nurse, midwife and counsellor with many years of clinical experience, and I offer both therapy and clinical supervision. I am a specialist in loss and grief- which will often link with issues such as Anxiety and Depression. Grief is a natural response to loss. It is the emotional suffering you feel when something or someone you love is taken away. Most people associate grief with the death of a loved one but any loss can cause grief. I provide a confidential and therapeutic space whereby you can talk and make sense of whatever is causing you distress. To facilitate this I ensure clients feel safe and listened to without fear of being judged or unheard.
