Issues through life can be buried so deep, that they may manifest in other ways, through tears, explosive temper, fear and anger .
As life gets back to some sort of semblance to pre covid times, it may be now that you seek help and support with some issues. If you feel anxiety or a worry that won’t go, then feel free to contact me. Counselling can allow space and time to explore deeper. By starting the process you can start to feel more in control and better able to cope. It can be a scary process, so if you will allow me to help, you may be able to make sense and let go. I am able to offer a safe, calm space to start the process. I work in Greenwich, close to all public transport links. It is a light, warm, welcoming space.

Childhood trauma, unhealthy patterns, addiction and trauma can all result in unresolved pain. Being able to explore that pain in a non judgemental, confidential, empathic space can be an essential life changing experience. Many clients come to therapy wanting change and emotional health, awareness of where that pain comes from and the journey to understand its impact on our lives today is a crucial part of healing. Often our trauma is not recognised, believed or simply understood. Yet we're living with the impact of these issues. It takes courage to acknowledge our pain but for those who can it can give us the tools to change.

SERVICES I PROVIDE: Like all forms of therapy, integrative therapy requires that you are open to exploring your fears, your hopes, your life, what is causing you challenges, and what you hope for your future. But if you like the idea of a therapy which is a bit more bespoke and less rigid than other forms, then integrative therapy might indeed be for you. Would you like to try this type of therapy?

Hi, I am Mariam, a senior psychotherapist, supervisor and clinical Hypnotherapist, in my experience clients come to therapy because they are either overwhelmed due to recent events in their lives or have been carrying unresolved conscious or unconscious ordeals or traumas. The goal of therapy should always include self-knowledge and self-healing. coming closer to self will help us to come closer to others. As part of this, it is important for all of us to have empathy towards ourselves. So the ultimate goal of therapy should be to gain self-love.

You have been feeling tense and overwhelmed for no apparent reason, although everything ‘seems fine’ on the surface and people often tell you that you were lucky in life. It might be that you don’t quite know where your emotional and physical reactions are coming from. As if your mind and body have a life of their own. It might seem you have it together all the time but it takes so much energy to keep things going. This never-ending sense of internal pressure feels exhausting but you are not quite sure how to get out of the cycle. You might be confused about who you really are, what is your true self.

I walk alongside you as you explore your unique life experiences and bring them for healing. I am a qualified counsellor and coach. People usually seek therapy because they have reached a crisis point in their life and are struggling to cope alone. This can lead to feeling stuck or creating unhelpful behaviour patterns to cope which present them from living life to their full potential. We often feel confused, anxious, depressed, emotionally numb or trapped in our past without clear goals in life or clear identity. I can offer you a safe space to explore better internal understanding which promotes self awareness, personal growth and inner peace which enables you to feel full of hope and clarity to achieve personal success.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with more than 10 years’ experience working in various roles within the NHS. I mainly use a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Third wave CBT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy) approaches in my clinical work. However, I draw on other therapeutic models such as systemic, mentalisation and functional behavioural analysis where appropriate.

If your life needs to change, and the change has to come now, come along and have a chat. People may see you and think you are so positive and cheerful, but inside you are relentlessly beating yourself up and frustrated that life is not going your way. Struggled with anxiety, panic attacks, substance misuse and depression for far to long? Due to perfectionism, anxiety, people-pleasing, and other self-sabotaging habits that have taken over until you can hardly recognise yourself. I will support you in learning how to integrate a calm perspective, mindfulness and increase your ability to manage emotional reactivity in peak times of high stress and anxiety.

Anger Management Counsellors

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
