I am a very experienced and professional therapist with over twelve thousand client contact hours behind me in individual, couples and group work. I feel my experience coupled with my life experiences makes me the person and the therapist I am today. My training in the person-centred approach (three years) and in Transactional Analysis (seven years) together with continuing professional and personal development and supervision give me a strong theoretical and experiential focus to bring to my client work. I work very much in a relational way (research indicates that the therapeutic relationship is key to positive therapy outcomes)

If you’re caught in cycles of anxiety, overwhelm, self-doubt, or people-pleasing, this work helps you understand why — and how to change it. We start by looking at where you are now: what’s not working, what’s keeping you stuck, and where you’d like to go. From there, we create a practical, personalised plan using brain-based tools, emotional insight, and evidence-informed strategies to shift the patterns underneath the surface to reduce anxiety and overwhelm, build self-confidence and clarity, break unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns. This isn’t about quick fixes or crisis support. It’s steady, supported change.

You may feel as though you have lost your footing, or perhaps you are simply exhausted from the daily effort it takes to hold everything together. Beneath the surface, there is often a persistent tightness or a quiet fear that traditional talk therapy hasn't touched. My practice is a secure space for adults navigating the unseen weight of chronic anxiety, complex trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Using Mind-Body Attunement Therapy (M-BAT), we weave together attachment work and neuroscience. We will gently map your nervous system, honouring its protective patterns while creating space for genuine, physical relief.

Hi I am an IFS (internal family systems) psychotherapist specialising in Trauma, addictions and eating disorders. My initial training and work was using the Gestalt, TA and humanistic person centred approaches, these will still play a part in the work I will do with you as we get to know and help the parts wounded by life events.  These parts of you may send flashbacks, dreams or uncomfortable feelings from the depths of your mind and your history, or you may experience some behaviours that you just can't understand or seem to control at times, there is always a reason for this. IFS therapy is a gentle but dynamic method

I have been where you are—wondering how to navigate the complexities of emotions, relationships, and the stories we carry. My goal as a therapist is not only to provide a safe space but to also help you challenge the narratives holding you back. Whether it is unpacking the impact of emotionally neglectful parents, learning to navigate the nuances of adult ADHD, or finding your footing in the midst of anxiety and stress, I bring a balance of empathy and accountability to our work together. Are you ready to explore the deeper layers of your story and create lasting change?

I work with people who feel anxious, low, or stuck, often as a result of early life experiences that continue to affect their confidence, relationships, and sense of direction. Many of my clients also feel burned out or exhausted from coping on their own. With over 25 years’ experience in children and family social care, I bring a deep understanding of how early experiences shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and cope in everyday life.

I entered the world of psychotherapy so I could manage and eventually overcome the painful emotions and thoughts that I had experienced. If this is the case for you, then psychotherapy can help you explore uncomfortable feelings that have held you back from living life to the full. Life often throws the unexpected at us, be it through relationships, either personal or professional, we sometimes find it difficult to cope alone and need the support to help us through this difficult time.

You have made the first step by recognising that you need some help and for seeking this help now and that is a really positive decision, one that I know would have not been an easy one to make. Counselling is an effective tool to hep support with many difficult issues in your life and can help give a different point of view and think about things in a different way. Talking about your issues is good for your health and wellbeing.

Hi, my name is Rimpy Sandhu. I have been working in my private practice as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 13 years . I know it can be very scary and difficult to talk about your issues, revisit those painful memories. Sometimes it’s hard to recognise and express your own feelings. I offer a professional, supportive, confidential, non judgmental and ethical therapy in order to help with your presenting issues. Counselling helps you to understand yourself and to find coping strategies to deal with the day to day difficulties you might be facing.

Substance Use Counsellors
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counsellors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
