Face-to-face: £85 per 50-minute session.
I’m George, a University of Oxford trained Therapist. I am well versed in a variety of therapy and mindfulness/ meditation traditions, and integrate a blend of therapeutic approaches and techniques within my practice. That being said, I have specialist training in the three waves of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). The first wave of CBT focuses on improving our wellbeing by changing our behaviour. The second wave adds techniques to support us in changing our thoughts. The third wave includes additional techniques to support how we relate to our experience.

Over more than 16 years in clinical practice, I have had the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds. One thing I have learnt is that people rarely come to therapy because something is wrong with them. More often, they have spent a long time carrying experiences, responsibilities or expectations that have left them feeling exhausted, stuck or disconnected from themselves. Together, we explore the emotional patterns shaping your life, creating space for greater clarity, self-understanding and meaningful, lasting change.

I offer in-person or online, weekly or fortnightly sessions.
There are all sorts of different reasons why you might reach out for counselling- You might be experiencing anxiety or low mood, maybe a feeling of flatness or having lost a sense of who you used to be. You might have experienced a life event or be dealing with loss and change. Maybe something has tipped the balance and what felt easy to manage before now feels overwhelming. And this could be impacting your work, care responsibilities, relationships, friendships or family life. Or maybe you feel your mental wellbeing just needs some attention and care.

A countercultural healing space to meet what's difficult, and reconnect with what makes you come alive. I offer embodied, relational, depth psychotherapy - work that moves against a culture oriented toward speed, certainty, and quick fixes. My approach centres depth, embodiment, relationship, and trauma-sensitivity: together, we track what the body holds, not just what's said, and look beneath the symptom to what's underneath it. I bring my own lived experience to this work. I make a commitment to be with you in your most difficult places and experiences, without judgement.

Therapy is online or in person in a calm environment at Severn House, near Westbury on Trym.
Life can feel like you're barely keeping your head above water when you’re dealing with big changes, uncertainty, or emotional strain. It’s tempting to do nothing, convincing yourself that staying small is the safest option—but deep down, you know it’s not. It just leaves you stuck and alone. These moments creep up, showing as stress, overwhelm, fear, or anxiety that grows and can get too much. You might even notice it physically—the tension, the sleepless nights, the fatigue—or mentally through low mood, anxiety or both, as if your mind is on a loop, replaying the same worries.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety or depression, difficulties in relationships, questions about identity, the experience of becoming a parent, or a persistent sense that something in life is not quite working. Therapy offers a space to speak freely and to think together about what may lie beneath the surface of our difficulties. My approach is psychoanalytic and psychodynamic. Through conversation, reflection, and careful attention to experience, therapy can create the possibility for greater understanding and meaningful change.

I work in private practice and in Secondary schools with many mental health issues such as anxiety, self-harm, low mood, gender dysphoria, self-esteem and confidence. In this difficult world, especially after lockdown, there are so many teenagers struggling emotionally and it is affecting confidence, friendships, family life and school. They want to understand how to understand and manage these emotions in order to be able to process them and move forward. I also work with SEND young people, struggling to understand themselves and why they may struggle emotionally.
