I also offer attachment-focussed therapy, which focusses on healing through nurturing the relationship between parent/carer and
child
.
Clients of all ages come to me with a range of issues and experiences – family difficulties, loss, anxiety, low mood, trauma … and just as often with more general feelings of unease and isolation that can be hard to pin down with words. Clients often appreciate space to reflect on their identity and their place in the world. One of the greatest privileges in my work is to support families working through past and present hurts to heal relationships, through empathy and authentic communication. I am experienced in working with foster carers and
children
in care, using an approach informed by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).

I am experienced working with adults, teenagers, and
children
from aged 11.
My core aim as a counsellor is to provide a warm and consistent space for you to feel heard and understood. We have many parts within us that need a listening ear, and open heart. When we find acceptance and compassion for ourselves, things can start to change in our lives. I offer kindness, non-judgement, and curiosity so that you can begin to feel resilient and self-loving. Each of us is born with inherent wisdom and we are our own best expert. But you may have lost trust along the way. I strive to offer you a nurturing, therapeutic relationship that encourages a sense of safety to trust.

I offer support for the emotional needs of
children
, teenagers, young adults, parents & infants and expectant parents. People come to me with many different issues from anxiety through to trauma, difficulties in family relationships and everything in-between. We may explore the issues that are bought, at the pace of the person, and together be present to the feelings that come up, allowing time for the arrival of clarity about what may be at the root of our patterns and our behaviours. I see the relationship between us and what can be noticed and experienced there as an important part of the healing and care for the soul.

I specialise in working with young people & adult clients to figure out the cause of their emotional distress & to start the healing process; enabling you/your
child
to move past them in a positive way.
Is your or your teens past affected by a distressing event(s) or relationship(s)? Do relationships continue to be affected; family, romantic, friendships, work, school? And your mental health? I struggled with abusive/narcissistic relationships for years & needed support to understand how this affected me & what I needed to change to have healthy relationships. I’m now passionate about supporting families, couples, adults, & teens to do the same; understand unhealthy relationships or move past difficult life event(s) to give them the confidence to be healthier & happier in their connections with others.

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.
How long are sessions with child therapists?
Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.
How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?
The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.
How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
