His academic and work career has been focused on helping people achieve their goals of recovery by relieving symptoms of depression and anxiety, from mild to severe psychological difficulties.
During treatment Mr Lamba predominantly uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and calls upon a number of complementary psychotherapeutic techniques such as mindfulness and compassion-focussed work, to provide his clients with a range of tools to help them make sense of their difficulties and then for us to work together in overcoming their distress.

Improving your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, is all an inside job.
What a world we live in, hey? So much pain. So much drama, and heartache. Yet, also so much beauty, love, and understanding. There's nothing to do except be here now, and show up fully, living as best as we can. This is where therapy begins. It may be hard work to change your habits, or to stop your thoughts spiralling. However you may find stillness, presence and recovery. No matter what adversity you've been through, I believe that you can grow from it and gain resilience. (Please visit my website to learn more and view availability for an initial consultation).

I started my professional career in 2016 working in forensic and Child and Adolescent mental health services.
Do you ever spend time worrying about things you have said or done in a meeting? to a friend? to your boss? Do you ever get trapped in self-critical thinking - where after a mistake you constantly berate yourself? Do you ever wake up in the night or when your trying to do something important and you can't control negative thoughts? Are you going through a period of transition and feeling stressed, confused or lost? I've always been fascinated by the power of the brain - how it can work for us and against us. With over 7 years of experience, I've witnessed first-hand how our mindset can either lift us up or hold us back.

I work with women who don’t feel ‘good enough’ to realise their worth and discover their true confidence. Are you overwhelmed by life? Filled with anxiety and constantly waste your energy worrying you’re not good enough or disappointing people? Maybe you can’t quite put your finger on what the problem is, but you know something isn’t quite right. Perhaps you’ve even lost your sense of who you are. You don’t have to feel like this. When life feels too much, we all need a helping hand. Let me be that helping hand. Together we can work towards confidence, calmness, self-esteem and improved relationships in every area of your life.

So often in our lives we reach a place where we are struggling in some capacity or another. It may be a deep-rooted issue that goes back to childhood, a past relationship or a trauma. It may be some destructive behaviour such as a form of self-harm or an eating disorder. It may be a negative thought process that is having an impact on our daily life. Whatever the issue, I believe counselling can help. Having a place where we can allow ourselves time and a calm space to think, talk and work things out can be absolutely priceless.

Counselling and psychotherapy is about you: your concerns, and your wellbeing. We can talk about me, and what clients say about me later. But for now, let's establish how you can benefit from professional support...... Does any of this sound like you? "I want to reduce stress" "I feel anxious all the time" "I wish I was more confident and less critical about myself " "I want to feel optimistic instead of negative all the time" ...Or perhaps you want some direction in life, become more productive or improve your relationships?

Life can feel like you're barely keeping your head above water when you’re dealing with big changes, uncertainty, or emotional strain. It’s tempting to do nothing, convincing yourself that staying small is the safest option—but deep down, you know it’s not. It just leaves you stuck and alone. These moments creep in under the guise of stress, overwhelm, fear, or anxiety that never seems to ease up. You might even notice it physically—the tension, the sleepless nights, the fatigue—or mentally through low mood, anxiety or both, as if your mind is on a loop, replaying the same worries.

Update: As of June 2025, I am OPEN to new enquiries. When life is difficult, it is often a signal that we need to pause and listen. Discomfort, hurt and struggle are experiences that are waiting to be seen, recognised, acknowledged and loved. Like uninvited visitors, they knock on our doors saying, ‘Please let me in.’ What if it were possible to give voice to those aspects of you that have been pushed away or abandoned? This is what psychotherapy can offer – a creative space in which you can learn to listen deeply to all the facets of who you are.

Hello, I'm Vicki, a fully qualified counsellor and member of the NCPS. Times can feel hard, like that feeling when there’s no light at the end of the tunnel, when the stress feels too much, when getting out of bed feels like an achievement, or feeling like no-one understands what we’re going through. Carrying these feelings can be heavy and make us feel like we’re facing an uphill battle. Through counselling, we can explore how you’re feeling, work through what’s bothering you, and talk about life’s challenges in a compassionate, safe and warm space, all while allowing you to be authentically yourself.

Wellbeing therapy, counselling, is a strange phenomenon, as it requires you to step into yourself and express how you are feeling to a professional person who has trained in the field and to unravel what you are going through. I can offer support, listen and hear what is being experienced with empathy using a flexible approach and work with what you bring to the sessions. I can offer a solution focused, collaborative approach which can include strategies and techniques, psycho educational materials, a creative self exploration so you are able to expand your awareness, be autonomous, develop self-efficacy to realise your goals.

Career Guidance Counsellors

How do I know if I need career counselling?

Determining whether a career counsellor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counselling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counsellor.

Who can benefit from career counselling?

Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counselling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counselling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counsellor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counselling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counselling typically last?

The length of career counselling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counselling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counsellor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counselling?

Clients can prepare for career counselling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counsellor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counsellor, particularly if the career counsellor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counselling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
